In the heart of Kentucky basketball fandom, where loyalty runs deep—but opinions run deeper—John Calipari’s legacy remains a hot debate. Enter Reed Sheppard, the rising NBA star, whose recent gesture has stirred up a whirlwind of reactions. Known for his support of Kentucky basketball, fans and critics alike can’t stop buzzing.

The buzz is over a tweet by professional photographer Tristan Paris, who shared a snapshot of “Reed Sheppard splitting his game day outfit to show his support of John Calipari and Kentucky. Arkansas shirt, Kentucky shorts,” it did not take long before the picture hit social media for everybody to begin taking sides instead.

The split attire, a nod to Calipari’s recent move from Kentucky to Arkansas, was intended as a show of support for both programs. However, the gesture has been met with mixed reactions, with some labeling it as “disgusting” and “cringe” while others see it as a heartfelt tribute to Calipari’s impact on Sheppard’s career. But Calipari’s sudden departure after 15 years left many fans blindsided, adding fuel to the fire.
