The LSU Tigers got a tough reality check today against number 20 Alabama. In a thrilling overtime battle, the Crimson Tide managed to edge out the Tigers 88-85. But all eyes were on LSU star, Flau’jae, who had a rough outing, shooting just 2-12 from the field. That’s not the kind of performance you expect from a player of her caliber who is shooting 46.5% from the field this season! But maybe there’s more to the story here, perhaps something off the court that could explain why things just weren’t clicking for her today?

Last night, Flau’jae dropped a new video on her channel Best of Both Worlds with Flau’jae, where she took the time to answer some fan questions! She talks about LSU’s upcoming games against Alabama (which they eventually lost today) and Ole Miss and proceeds to talk about March Madness, she says, “Y’all know how I feel about March, I’m ready for March, I ain’t gonna lie and I want to drop a song called ‘March Madness’, I lowkey wanna remix March Madness by future, I don’t know what imma do but I want to do something like that just in the spirit of March Madness.”

We all know how massive of an artist Flau’jae Johnson is. I mean, who could forget the 14-year-old Flau’jae stepping onto the America’s Got Talent stage, delivering a tribute to her father? Now, she’s not just an incredible basketball player, she’s also signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The 21-year-old is the definition of an all-rounder!

But here’s the big question, is Flau’jae a little distracted? With the postseason just around the corner, you can’t help but wonder if she’s got her priorities straight. If you are one of those wondering this? I am here to tell you that you are wrong!

Flau’jae is one of those players who would leave it all on the floor for her team. After that tough outing in Tuscaloosa, where she faced her first-ever loss there, you can bet she’s got something to prove. She’s already vowed to bounce back and there’s no reason not to believe her!

Flau’jae Johnson vows to come back strong

There was obviously some speculation about Johnson being distracted by her music career, but she is here to put an end to all of it! After her rough outing against Alabama, she took to X to take accountability for the loss and promised to come back strong, “This on me, I’m playing my worst basketball. I’m sorry yall, ima bounce back”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Flau'jae's music career affecting her game, or is this just a temporary setback?

Have an interesting take?

This right here is the mentality of a true champion. Flau’jae knows what it takes to win — after all, she’s already an NCAA champion! Her response to that tough loss shows her character and effectively shuts down any speculation about her being distracted with her music career!

The focus now will shift to the last game of the regular season, where they play Ole Miss. The Rebels have 3 of their last 5 games and Johnson knows it won’t be an easy game either, “y’all know how Ole Miss play, they tough, you coach yo gonna have a great gameplan coming in but we gotta win out.”  ESPN gives the Tigers a 78.4% chance of winning and Flau’jae will be itching to go out and shut her haters up! Stay tuned for more updates!
