High-school basketball always transfers exciting talents to college hoops every year. There’s always a #1 prospect in the country from each high-school class, and Chet Holmgren holds that reputation in 2021. The seven-footer is the best in the country when it comes to high-school basketball! 

For those who are unaware of Chet Holmgren, he is a seven-foot-one senior at Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis. Holmgren plays the center position and is regarded as one of the best blockers in the history of high-school basketball.

Holmgren is currently in his senior year at Minnehaha Academy and there are plenty of college programs that are seeking his service! About seven universities are interested in recruiting the versatile big-man, but he is yet to make a decision about his future. 

Holmgren earned massive acclaim when he attended Steph Curry’s ‘SC30 Select Camp’ in 2019. The seven-footer showcased his incredible skills against the three-time champion and left him awe-struck with his talent. People started hyping Holmgren after he dropped Curry on the floor using his own move against him! 

“When you do get the chance, you know, you never want to just be scared or back down. I just wanted to show what I could do and you want to play against the best,” Holmgren reminisced about the moment in a recent chat with BBC Sport. 

Chet Holmgren recognizes the greatness of Curry and knows that he has a long way to go in his career. The talented teenager is filled with humility, and he’s overwhelmed that three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade gave him a shoutout! 

“Dwyane Wade gave me a shoutout on Twitter. I was pretty geeked. So that was like, one of the first high-profile NBA guys that kind of took notice of me. To have it to be D-Wade, you know you are kind of starting at the top,” Holmgren expressed. 

Chet Holmgren is the most hyped high-school player at the moment. He would be facing incredible pressure now, trying to choose a college program that suits his preferences. There’s a bright future ahead for the teenager, and he’s bound to end up in the NBA in three to four years’ time!
