Gamecocks have had an unbeaten run in the NCAA women’s basketball. They’ve a 27-0 record in the regular season and a 14-0 record in the conference. They’re placed at the first position in the SEC and hence going by their streak are top contenders for the conference title.
If they don’t get an automatic bid then their performances will surely be noticed by the selection committee and they might make it to the March Madness with an at large bid
Ohio State Buckeyes
Buckeyes have a 24-3 record and a 15-1 conference tally. With exceptional performances this season, they occupy the top spot in the Big Ten. The only team that can play a spoilsport to their dominance plans in their conference are Iowa Hawkeyes.
Considering the worst possible scenario, Buckeyes can still win at large bid from the selection committee.
Texas Longhorns
Longhorns have a 26-3 tally in the regular season and a conference record of 13-3. Riding on their exploits, the team is placed at the second spot in the Big 12. They’re going strong in the tournament and can win the conference title.
Longhorns can also secure an at large bid if they fail to convert their exploits into winning moves at crucial moments. But they’ll be trying really hard to not let the selection committee grant them a spot, rather they would be wanting to emerge triumphant in the conference championship.
Stanford Cardinal
Cardinal have a 24-4 record in the regular season with a conference tally of 13-3. Due to their exceptional display, they’re ranked first in the Pac-12. But in a conference that has Trojans, Bruins and Oregon State, getting the title can never be a cakewalk for Cardinal.
But they can get a qualification by an at large bid of the selection committee. Whatever the case, it will be good to see a star-studded Cardinal team perform their best during the March Madness.
Virginia Tech Hokies
Hokies have a 23-4 tally and a conference record of 14-2. They’re currently placed at the first position in the ACC and are also the favorites from their group to win the conference title.

If they do so, then they’ll earn an automatic bid to the March Madness. However, if they fail to because of some reason, then the selection committee too would be keen to send Hokies to March Madness.
Iowa Hawkeyes
The March Madness cannot be complete without taking Iowa Hawkeyes into consideration. They were last year’s finalists for the Championship game.
They’ve a 24-4 tally and are posited at the second spot in the Big Ten. One can be sure that Hawkeyes will get an at-large bid from the Selection Committee if they are not able to get an automatic qualification.
University of Southern California Trojans
Trojans are going strong with their main player JuJu Watkins. Watkins is considered a competitor to Caitlin Clark for the NPOY Awards. Trojans have a 21-5 tally in the regular season with an 11-5 record in the conference.
They occupy the second position in the Pac-12 and are major contenders for the conference title. Even if they are not able to do what they set on, Trojans can be sure of entering the March Madness with an at-large bid.
UCLA Bruins
Bruins are just another team that is ticking all the right boxes with their exemplary display. They’ve a 22-5 tally in the regular season and an 11-5 record in the conference.
They’re also top contenders to win the conference title along with Trojans, Cardinal, and Oregon State. Bruins can also take a sigh of relief because they might earn the at-large bid from the selection committee if they fail to execute their plans in terms of winning the conference title.
Louisiana State University Lady Tigers
Lady Tigers were on a complete rampage last season when they won the March Madness tournament. This time too they are poised to compete for consecutive titles. With stars like Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow, they probably might pull off a conference title.
But one team that can stand in their way is South Carolina Gamecocks. The LSU currently occupy the second spot in the SEC and will make it to the March Madness either way.
