True to this tradition, this time this debate surrounds three of the best players in the league – Cooper Flagg, AJ Dybantsa, and Cameron Boozer.
With his towering figure and dominating plays in every game, Flagg has become a favorite of many fans all over the world. However, Dybantsa and Boozer aren’t behind in grabbing the world’s attention with their unique skills and exceptional talents. Born in 2006, Cooper Flagg showed early signs of his interest in the sport of basketball and since then the young star never looked back. To step into the world of professionalism, Flagg started his high school career at Nokomis Regional High School, where he became the first freshman to be awarded the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year title, as he averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 3.7 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game. After completing his freshman year at Nokomis, Flagg transferred to Montverde Academy, where he played for the Florida Eagles, an AAU team affiliated with Montverde, in the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.
After he reclassified from the 2025 recruiting class to 2024, Flagg quickly became a top-rated recruit in the senior class after being considered as a third-best prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. But sadly, for several big programs, this young prodigy is off the market as he verbally announced his commitment to Duke in October.
In an interview with Yahoo Sports, Cooper Flagg said, “I’ve grown up my whole life watching them and I like their playing style. I just love the program, the history, and the culture, and I’m looking forward to see, what Jon Scheyer does. He’s a great coach.” Notably, while Flagg’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable, there stands another player with his own unique story and prowess on the court, Cameron Boozer.
A young prodigy
Cameron Sikander Boozer is one of the best hoopers to ever step foot in the world of high school basketball. While Cameron holds the burden of expectations from the world as he is the son of former NBA star, Carlos Boozer, Cameron has never disappointed his fans. Cameron started his basketball career at Christopher Columbus High School in Westchester, Florida, where as a sophomore athlete he averaged 21.1 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and two blocks per game while leading his team toward the state championship title.
In the march of last year, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year as he continued to impress the basketball community with his razzle-dazzle skills.

Not only Cameron is sending shockwaves in the high school world, but there is also no stopping him on an international level, as he led Team USA towards a win in a match against Team Canada in the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship. With his strategic prowess and unmatched court vision, Cameron is just simply unstoppable. Notably, Amidst the clash for the title of No.1 player in high school hoops, stands another player who is carving his path with his unique set of skills, AJ Dybantsa.
A basketball maestro
AJ Dybantsa is a name that has been making the headlines almost daily with his impressive performance in every game he plays. Dybantsa grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts, and started his basketball journey at Saint Sebastian’s School, where he was awarded the title of Massachusetts Boys’ Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year in his freshman season after he was averaging 19.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.5 blocks per game.

However, for some unknown reasons, Dybantsa decided to transfer to Prolific Prep in Napa, California where he is playing alongside another basketball star, Tyran Stokes. His incredible polished skills led him to be the top scorer in the entire Peach Jam. His impressive skill set makes him stand out beyond the expectations of his current class and compete with players far older than him.
Dybantsa is not your everyday high school hooper, he is highly regarded as a generational talent in the basketball community who is poised to completely change the landscape of college basketball when he steps into that realm.
