Star power and prime matchups have carried the past few seasons in NCAAW, especially last two seasons. Last year, it was the Caitlin Clark show—unstoppable pull-up threes, logo shots, jaw-dropping assists. And this year, Paige Bueckers is back and she’s coming for it all. Both players are elite, both are leaders. One just went No.1 in the WNBA Draft. The other is projected to go as a top pick, too.
But Clark, despite all her records, never got that elusive natty. Bueckers is still in the dance, chasing both a title and a historic record. All she needs is 33 more points to pass Clark as the highest scorer in NCAA Tournament history. And while Clark hit that mark in fewer games, Paige still has a shot at crowning herself as NCAA royalty. So, yes, comparisons were always bound to happen. Because these two are among the greatest we’ve seen in recent college hoops history. Let’s break down more areas of comparison.

Caitlin Clark college stats vs Paige Bueckers college stats
Both Bueckers and Clark entered college in 2020 after a great high school career. Huskies star was the top-ranked player in the class according to ESPN W, and ultimately chose Uconn over other big programs. CC, on the other hand, was No. 4 in that same class. But Geno Auriemma and UConn didn’t show her much love during recruiting. So she stayed home and picked Iowa. Sure, their journeys have been totally different, but when it comes to numbers both are certified stat machines.
Paige Bueckers vs Caitlin Clark stats in 2021-22
Both Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark were already stars as freshmen, but come sophomore year, they doubled down on the hype and went all in. In 2021–22, Clark lit it up with 799 points in 30 games. That’s 26.6 points per game. Bueckers played 29 games and finished with 581 points, averaging 20.0 a night.
But when it comes to efficiency, Paige Buckets stood out. She shot a wild 52.4% from the field and 46.4% from deep. Clark, meanwhile, hit 47.2% overall and 40.6% from beyond the arc. And both were nearly flawless at the free-throw line—CC at 85.8%, Bueckers at 86.9%.
Clark, as always, ran the show with 7.1 assists a game (214 total), while Bueckers still impressed with 5.8 APG (168 total). Rebounding was Clark’s lane—5.9 per game to Bueckers’ 4.9. But when it came to defense, Paige had 66 steals to Clark’s 38.

Paige Bueckers vs Caitlin Clark stats in 2023-24
Clark went full video game mode, dropping 1,183 points in 37 games. 32 a night. Bueckers had a quieter but still lethal 20.0 PPG across after being sidelined for a whole season.
Efficiency-wise, Paige stayed ice-cold from the field—54% overall and 40.5% from three. Clark wasn’t far behind, hitting 46% and 38% from deep, but again, she took way more shots, especially from long range (193 threes!). Clark also dominated in playmaking, racking up 334 assists (9.0 APG), while Bueckers had 138 (4.1 APG). Rebounds was the area Clark snagged, 7.3 per game to Bueckers’ 5.4. But defensively, Paige again brought the heat with 76 steals to Clark’s 66.
Basically, both had two different styles. Still one same result: buckets, brilliance, and domination. And it was CC’s last as a college athlete while the UConn guard decided to use her eligibility and stay for her fifth year. So, the past season was the perfect finale for one and a fiery setup for the other.
Caitlin Clark height vs Paige Bueckers height
Both Clark and Bueckers are 6 feet tall. That puts them a good few inches above the average NCAA Division I guard, who typically hovers around 5’8″. So while they’re not the tallest players overall, their height gives them a real edge at the guard spot.
Caitlin Clark weight vs Paige Bueckers weight
Clark weighs around 152 lbs (69 kg), while Bueckers comes in at about 141 lbs (64 kg). That lean build works in their favor, quick feet, agile movement, and smooth transitions. However, Clark has added muscle after her Year 1 in W, and with Bueckers heading into the pros soon, she might have to bulk up a bit too for that next level physicality.

Caitlin Clark wingspan vs Paige Bueckers wingspan
There’s no official update recently, but based on last year’s info, Clark’s wingspan is around 6’4″. That extra reach helps her command the floor on both ends. For Bueckers, she reportedly had a wingspan of around 5’11” last year. But since that was also her listed height at the time, it’s likely her wingspan is pretty close to that, maybe just a bit more.
