The UConn Huskies have been outperforming themselves this entire NCAA season. Consequently, there was no surprise when they won over The Golden Eagles on Sunday to keep themselves at the top of the Big East Conference. However, this is not the only accolade they managed to basket this week. Turns out the Huskies ended their year sweeping the weekly Big East honors as well.

Apparently, many players of the Huskies grabbed themselves celebratory cheers as they ended 2023 with a bang. Let us see who from UConn’s locker room cited more achievements in their resumes.

The UConn Huskies dominate the Big East Weekly Awards

The No.12 UConn Huskies headlined the Big East Weekly Awards for the second time this season. The 6 ft 3 in forward Aaliyah Edwards was adjudged as conference’s Player of the Week. At the same time, the Freshman of the Week was awarded to the dynamic No.2 KK Arnold. Moreover, UConn’s prominent guard Paige Beuckers was also in the midst as she was stated in the BIG EAST weekly honor roll. Aaliyah was prolific in the Huskies’ 95-64 victory over Marquette on Sunday. The senior forward registered a double-double for the fifth time in her last six games. She ended her night scoring 19 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, a four-time Freshman of the Week this season, KK Arnold also had an impact on the game. She contributed with thirteen points, two assists along with three steals and one rebound. Consequently, she now has 30 steals to her name this season which is the most by any Husky player this season. In addition to this, she became UConn’s seventh rookie in the last eight weeks to earn the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.

Their star performer Paige Beuckers was the pick of the lot in their commanding win over the Golden Eagles.

The explosive UConn N0.5–Paige Beuckers–asserts her dominance yet again. She was the catalyst behind the Huskies’ resounding 95-64 victory over the No. 18 Marquette. The 6 ft point guard led the scoring charts for the Huskies with her 25 points and one rebound along with five assists and three steals. As a result, she is now maintaining a healthy average of 19.2 points per game so far in the tournament.

The UConn Huskies continues their impressive show despite the setbacks caused due to injuries. The 11-time national champions have now won 6 games on the trot after their hiccup against Texas. Fans will be eager to see how they start their New Year when take on the No. 21 Creighton on Wednesday.
