Paige Bueckers, the husky who made a howling comeback, is a resurgent newsmaker in town. She lately made it to #3 on ESPN’s Top 25 list of players in women’s basketball. Notably, she held the same position in the preseason list. This season, she has been averaging 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, with a field goal percentage of 53.1.

This UConn Husky has signed some pretty good deals in the recent years of her collegiate career, boosting her name, image, and likeness (NIL) presence on the internet. Notably in November 2021, Bueckers signed a multi-year deal with Gatorade and became the company’s first NCAA partner. Bueckers signed this deal with the purpose to “drive impact in the community and on the women’s game,” as she puts it.

In 2021 only, she signed a 3-year endorsement deal with StockX, a footwear and apparel marketplace platform. Supporting this decision, Bueckers said, “My partnership with StockX is about equity and authenticity. It’s about a product I love and about shining a light on all the creatives that drive culture. I’m here to celebrate them and, together with StockX, invest in making sure women and women athletes are prioritized, elevated, and recognized for their style and their leadership.”

In 2022, Bueckers signed a deal with an education platform called Chegg, to support a cause. This NIL deal was different. Generally, many athletes sign these deals as an opportunity to make money and gain more popularity. However, Bueckers signed this deal to draw awareness around the issue of student hunger.

“I’m thrilled to become Chegg’s first student-athlete brand ambassador and for this opportunity to help in the fight against food insecurity which affects too many of my peers and 12 million kids in the U.S. As a college sophomore balancing so many things, I’ve always appreciated Chegg’s commitment to meeting students where they are and supporting them in a meaningful way,” said Bueckers in a press release.
