Can Paige Bueckers and KK Arnold's humor translate into a winning season for the Huskies?

The NCAA Women’s College Basketball season is about to tip-off, and you can see players getting pumped up, building the hype as they gear up for the new season. And speaking of excitement, UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers and KK Arnold, known for their TikTok videos, just dropped a hilarious video, launching the season. She pulled off a twist on the viral ‘Trust Fall’ trend, and it’s a must-see.

The individuals typically perform a trust fall—where one person falls backward, trusting that another will catch them. However, the punchline is the ‘catchers’ intentionally don’t catch the person, humorously conveying the message. In the same pattern, the 2021 AP Player of the Year sets up the fall but deliberately misses catching her teammate, KK Arnold.

Then, moving side to side while smiling, she said, “Well, you can’t trust everybody, but you can trust us to have a great season. Go Huskies, see you soon.” Like the many other TikToks these two friends share, it grabbed quite a lot of attention on the Internet.

Building a great relationship over the last year, the duo has consistently brought humor to their fans. Another prank video from a few weeks ago, where the Huskies’ point guard pretends that smearing pickles on her face is her secret to glowing skin was another hilarious take on their friendship. And Arnold’s reaction was priceless, especially when she realized it was just a prank.

In another video, Bueckers jokingly referred to Arnold as her ‘girlfriend.’ Just like that, they are often seen making such videos and doing live sessions on social media. Fans absolutely love seeing them together, and even they have never shied away from creating engaging content out of their friendship. They’ll be looking to take these positive vibes onto the court as well.

About the new season, it starts on November 3, 2024, and we can’t wait to see the UConn Huskies rock. As the season begins, expect some great matchups against powerhouse teams like Oregon State and Louisville, along with a showdown against Iowa State. Under the guidance of legendary coach Geno Auriemma, the team, including KK Arnold, Paige Bueckers, Jana El Alfy, and more, is all set for last year’s redemption.

The 2023-24 UConn Huskies women’s basketball team faced a challenging season but remained in contention under Hall of Fame coach Geno Auriemma’s coaching. They started strong but struggled with injuries, losing key players like Azzi Fudd and Ayanna Patterson early in the season. Despite this, the team finished the regular season with a remarkable 26-5 record, going undefeated (18-0) in the Big East.

Paige Bueckers emerged as a key player, leading the team in scoring, while Aaliyah Edwards topped the boards and Nika Mühl facilitated the assists. In the Big East tournament, UConn faced setbacks again with injuries but still secured their 11th consecutive conference championship.

Ultimately, they entered the NCAA tournament as the #3 seed and even won their first four games, with Bueckers earning the title of Most Outstanding Player of the region. Unfortunately, their run ended in the Final Four against Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes. The Huskies concluded the season with an overall record of 33-6 and a #3 ranking in both the AP and Coaches polls.
