The LSU’s talent hunt has built a star-studded roster for the upcoming NCAA season. New Lady Tigers are roaring to go, but the spotlight stays on Angel Reese. In fact, Coach Kim Mulkey makes no bones about the young star who helped LSU lift their title last season.

Mulkey has an impressive and extensive basketball career. She’s the only person in NCAA women’s basketball history to have achieved a national championship both as a player and an assistant coach. Her stellar experience on the basketball field supports her choice of prioritizing Reese with logical explanations.

In a recent interview, Coach Mulkey was questioned: “Angel Reese might be the biggest athletic star on the LSU campus, what has she meant to your program?”

Mulkey responded that Reese’s fame is not limited to the basketball team but extends across LSU. “It’s not just our program; it’s what she has meant to LSU.”

The coach acknowledged the fact that an athlete like Reese is rare and emerges once in a while on the scene: “How many times in our lifetime is a female athlete the most popular person around the country?”

She added: “When you’ve got a Heisman Trophy candidate and Jaden Daniels, you’ve got a national championship. Angel Reese is most talked about, and a lot of that has to do with her personality.” The showering praise makes one delve deeper into Angel’s rise as a Lady Tiger.

Angel’s Advent As Star

Reese surprised many when she left Maryland for LSU last spring. The jersey No. 10 star emulated her mother who used to wear the same number when she was a player. Apart from her mother, her younger brother Julian is a sophomore with the Terps and wears the same uniform.
