Watkins dropped a double-double by scoring 31 points and grabbing 12 rebounds during the game, but humorously suggesting that she was shocked at her prowess left the fans with belly-aching laughter.

In a recent post-game interview with Women Hooping, Watkins and the interviewers were going through her in-game match highlights. While commenting on her basketball prowess, the interviewer said, “JuJu Watkins who drops 31 points.” Shocked by this statement, Watkins exclaimed, “I had 31 points? Tonight? Oh! Wow, okay.” On being asked how many points did she think she scored, she humorously said, “Probably like 10. I’m not gonna lie to you, it was a slow start to the game for me, for sure.”
Her humble response to the points she scored showcased not only her skill on the court but also her down-to-earth and good-humored personality.

Notably, the USC Trojans secured their fifth back-to-back win in the going season with the help of Watkins’s impeccable skills.

The USC Trojans ladies have made it clear that they are in it to win this season. The 2023-24 NCAA season kicked off in early November and the Trojans had their first match of the league against the Ohio State Buckeyes, in which the Trojans secured the match with the final score of 83-74. Watkins played a crucial role in helping her team secure the first game of the season as she scored 32 points and had 5 assists.

So far, the Trojans have played five matches out of which they have won all five with an average score difference of 17.4 points. In all these matches, Watkins averaged 26.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Seeing the incredible performances of this young prodigy, fans are already predicting that she might be better than Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese. But what will be made out of her is yet to be seen.
