Nick Young Slaps Bronny James’ USC Trojans With ‘Deserving’ Jab on Kobe Bryant Special

Six basketball teams sponsored by Nike at the beginning of the collegiate basketball season chose the inaugural class of Mamba Academies. As the most recent school to obtain a Player Exclusive edition of the Nike Kobe 8 Protro, the University of South California now has Kobe Bryant’s trademark shoes in modified Protro tooling with personalized school insignia. The customized designs for their Nike Kobes were introduced by Louisiana State University and the University of Southern California.

They are one of six institutions receiving special versions of Bryant’s footwear. Fans of Black Mamba are in awe of the new designs and can’t wait to get their hands on them. Vanessa Bryant is appreciated by the participants’ schools and by the fans for making it possible.

The USC men’s basketball team was overwhelmed by the gesture of Vanessa Bryant as they boasted their prized possession in the Instagram pages as they wrote, “New custom USC Kobe’s dropped. It’s an honor to be an official Mamba school,” showing a carousel of pictures and videos celebrating the custom sneakers

But what caught attention was Nick Young’s comment attacking Bronny James and his team after the crushing defeat they suffered in a recent match. He commented, “We lose to a team like Long Beach State again, yall wearing peak.” This created waves of laughter in the comment section as Young took a harsh jab at his team.

On December 10, the men’s basketball team from Long Beach State was composed and prepared for the situation when they forced USC into overtime. In an extended play, they won 84-79 over USC. On their home floor, Long Beach upset USC for the first time since 1987.

However, this was not the first time this year that Long Beach had defeated a formidable foe. The squad has been playing its customary demanding pre-conference schedule, taking on clubs from larger cities with more resources and more media coverage. Big East players DePaul and Big Ten team Michigan State were defeated by Long Beach.

As his father, NBA superstar LeBron James, sat courtside, the University of Southern California’s Galen Center was packed, eagerly awaiting the homecoming of freshman Bronny James.
