Former Lady Tiger Angel Reese recently flew to the Big Apple for the New York Knicks game against the Brooklyn Nets in the Garden. While the star-studded event was a highlight of the trip, it was not her only stop. In fact, the Bayou Barbie was back behind the counter serving the customers with autographs, selfies, love, and of course, some chicken wings. Certainly, she proved that you can be successful and still work a job.

Reese, whose NIL value is $1.8 million, was in New York to serve her fans at Raising Cane’s chicken fingers outlet. The Bayou Barbie became a busy bee in there as she signed her clicks, took photos, and motivated the young girls and fans. Discussing her off-court activities alongside being a superstar athlete, she said, “I’m not just a basketball player. I like taking cute pictures, I like going out, I like having fun and putting on nice clothes. Being able to be both.

She continued telling everyone about the origin of her popular nickname Bayou Barbie. She said, “Because on the court, I wear my lashes, I wear my nails, I have my hair done and I’m also a dawg.”

Talking about what she will miss the most as a Lady Tiger, she said, “That’s what I’m gonna miss at LSU, having 15,000 people there every given night was crazy. The culture there was just something that I always remember. They made me the Bayou Barbie, I’ll never forget where I came from.”

Her previous experience at the register was in Baton Rouge when Travis Scott had a midnight launch for Cactus Jack at the LSU campus. Even then, she brought in her athletic competitiveness aboard as she paced up the queue at the Bookstore.

Reese’s NIL valuation is no surprise. Along with Rising Cane’s, the 21-year-old also had NIL deals with Playstation, McDonalds, Amazon, Wingstop, and more. After winning the 2023 NCAA title, she became the biggest name in college basketball and even made an appearance on a Cardi B song. However, last season saw her stock take a dip.

What’s next for LSU’s Angel Reese?

The LSU Tigers returned to Baton Rouge after Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes completed last year’s revenge. Although Reese has one more year of her college career apart from the one COVID-19 year, she has decided to move on. Focusing more on her team play rather than her personal stats has surely come with a price. She is not a projected Top-5 pick due to this in various mock Drafts. Per ESPN, she will be picked up by the Chicago Sky with the 8th pick in the WNBA Draft on Monday.

With many expecting her to be pairing up with the Sky, her former South Carolina rival Kamilla Cardoso is also expected to be on the same roster. No matter where she goes, the new team will definitely get a team leader, a motivator, and one hell of a rebounder in Angel Reese. But for now, seems like she is busy slaying. What do you think of her multiple personalities?
