For the Huskers, the chief player to watch out for will be their guard Keisei Tominaga. Tominaga very recently basketed his season-high 28 points against the Indiana Hoosiers before potting a crucial 17 in the Huskers’ defeat to the Wisconsin Badgers.

He would be trying to prove his mettle against a ranked team like the Boilermakers and if the Huskers are able to win this game then it would be a resume victory for them.

For the Purdue, the most important player this NCAA season has been their center Zach Edey. Edey has throttled 22.3 points per game with 10.6 rebounds per match. He has been instrumental in pushing his team to victory throughout this season. The Boilermakers will certainly rely on Edey who would try his level best to get into his own considering he just besotted 10 points in his last game against the Illinois

Another player to watch for the Boilermakers will be their forward Trey Kaufman-Renn. Kaufman-Renn amped up his game during his previous match against the Illinois when he soused 23 points while Edey could only sozzle 10.

It will be interesting to see who continues to be the alpha in this game because Edey has been well highlighted for his performances and every team would already have developed strategies against the Canadian baller.

Head to Head

As per Purdue’s official website, the Boilermakers have won 14 games against the Huskers and lost 4. They have an impeccable 8-0 home record and a 5-3 away record. Other than that the conference record too speaks highly of the Purdue as they have a 13-3 tally. In their most recent on-road game against the Huskers during the 2022-23 season, the Purdue edged past their opponents by a 65-62 margin in overtime.

Prediction

The Huskers would try their level best to notch up a win at home while the Purdue would be looking to test their newfound star Kaufman-Renn. The Purdue have been ranked as the best team in the AP Poll and hence it would be a big win for the Nebraska if they are able to do so.

On the other hand, the Purdue will try to keep their campaign going since they have lost only one game so far. The match ultimately might shift in the Purdue’s favor if the Nebraska are not too cautious with their plans.
