“I just feel like I’m not done yet here,” the University of Connecticut star Paige Bueckers spoke of her return to the NCAA circuit in April, despite having the chance to be the number two pick during the WNBA 2024 draft. Naturally, she is trying to fulfill her NCAA dream of winning the Championship title, something that is not a rarity with the head coach Geno Auriemma. Hence, come thunder, sun, or spring, Bueckers can be found meticulously practicing for what could be her final season with the Huskies.
WNBA skills coach Reid Ouse recently uploaded a snippet of Bueckers practicing her balling skills close to 48 hours after she had thrown the ceremonial pitch at the Twins game. Her fans were in awe of her, seeing the 22-year-old basketball star practice dedicatedly.

In the video uploaded, Bueckers can be seen improving her layups and three-pointer jump shots. She scores a point by jumping near the rim before going back to the arc and practicing some distance shooting. The post was captioned “Back at it.”

Last season, she took the injury-ridden team to the Final Four where she was defeated by the Hawkeyes in a 71–69 loss. But with Cameron Brink, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese being in the WNBA, it certainly looks like this time she will be able to capture her NCAA throne and win a title for the Huskies. Her growing demand at Minnesota certainly hints at her dominance.
The intense passion of Bueckers for the sport is commendable as less than 48 hours ago, she had returned to her home state of Minnesota to throw the ceremonial pitch before the Twins clashed against the Kansas City Royals. Bueckers could be seen donning a Twins jersey T-shirt along with grey cargo pants. She also wore a red cropped top to notch up her fashion game.
With Nike Jordans on, Bueckers threw out her first ceremonial pitch. As it reached the home plate, there was a loud ovation by the spectators at the stadium. And why shouldn’t she be applauded? She was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota and during her time at Hopkins High School, she gave the residents a reason to cheer whenever she played any game. But, is there too much on Bueckers’ plate right now?
Could Paige Bueckers be overstraining herself?
Bueckers had recently made headlines when she became an equity holder in Breanna Stewart’s Unrivaled League which is scheduled to begin in January next year. Taking note of the NCAA schedule, a lot of fans speculated if Bueckers will be able to ply her trade in the 3*3 league. However, fans can relax since, as per the report, Bueckers will be playing in the Unrivaled during the 2026 season.
Thus, Bueckers might appear to have too many things on her plate but she has sorted it all out. UConn fans can be sure that Bueckers will contribute her cent percent on the hardwood in the upcoming NCAA season that will commence in November.

Bueckers surely has the talent to lift the Championship trophy and combined with her work ethic she will be a difficult player to stop. Auriemma too will be hoping that Bueckers’ sacrifice doesn’t go to waste as the Huskies fans leave the hardwood satisfied and happy.
