NCAA Men’s Basketball action will continue when the Michigan State Spartans take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers in quite an intriguing clash. The Spartans are a ranked team, but they have been on the decline after their loss to Northwestern Wildcats.
The Golden Gophers pulled off a stunning upset over the Iowa Hawkeyes. That win has established them as real contenders to break into the Top 25. The team is currently 8-1 and look very dominant.

The Spartans started the season 6-0 but are currently 6-2. A loss here would almost definitely see them fall off the Top 25. Meanwhile, a win for the Golden Gophers would all but guarantee a spot in the top 25 for the surging team.
The only question that remains is, who wins this very important battle?

While it is a stretch to call this a losing ‘streak’, but the Spartans have a tall task ahead of them. This is the worst kind of matchup for an established team when they are in a slump. The Golden Gophers will look to spring another upset, similar to the one they gave the much stronger Iowa Hawkeyes team.
The sweet-shooting of the Golden Gophers is what led them to score 100 points on the Hawkeyes defense as they made 17 shots from beyond the arc. This game will enable the Gophers to go 2-1 in their Big 10 Conference matchups.

The starting lineup for the Spartans will see Joey Hauser, Aaron Henry, Thomas Kithier, Rocket Watts, and Joshua Langford. The Golden Gophers will line up with Marcus Carr, Both Gach, Gabe Kalscheu, Liam Robbins, and Brandon Johnson.
We have the Spartans arresting their streak and triumphing over the Golden Gophers. Coach Tom Izzo will employ some strong perimeter defense, which would limit the Gophers from bombing from three as they have. However, this match could genuinely go either way.
