The Iowa Hawkeyes star attraction Caitlin Clark added another feather to her cap before the start of her new season. The talented point guard made the pre-season All-American for the third consecutive time. In addition to this, for the second time in two years, she was a unanimous pick. Further, all the 36 ballots presented by the national media panel had Caitlin. Closing in was her rival and current NCAA champion– Angel Reese. The Bayou Barbie was one short of her opponent as she appeared on 35 ballots.

Caitlin Clark turned quite a few heads throughout the season with her incredible basketball. She carried the Iowa Hawkeyes all the way to the Finals. She had an impressive average of 27.8 points to go with 8.6 assists and 7.1 rebounds per game.
AP top 25 released an official video on their Twitter account. It featured Caitlin Clark with the rest. Other players who are included in the AP All-American squad are– Elizabeth Kitley from Virginia Tech, Cameron Brink of Stanford, Paige Bueckers representing UConn, and Mackenzie Holmes from Indiana University.
Paige Bueckers is all set to make a return after recovering from a torn ACL in her left knee. Unfortunately, she had no choice but to sit out most of her sophomore year. This was due to a lateral meniscus tear and a tibial plateau fracture.

Other players to look out for this season
Nevertheless, the fans are expecting the 2021 AP player of the year to make a strong comeback. Mackenzie Holmes scripted history for the Indiana Hoosiers by becoming the first player to get selected in the pre-season All-American team. It is the second time Elizabeth Kitley made it to this squad. Apparently, she refused to enter this year’s WNBA draft.
Only two players are left from the 2021 NCAA championship team– the Stanford Cardinal. One of which is Cameron Brink. Liz Kitley and Mackenzie Holmes received equal number of votes and are now tied at fifth. Fans will be expecting a repeat of what they witnessed last season from all these six players. We will have to wait and see how quickly they can pick up from where they left last season.
