The Baylor Bears are off to one of the best starts in college basketball history, and they’re destined for success. Scott Drew has built a world-class team of young stars, and they’ve already marked their name in the NCAA Division I history books!

Baylor Bears join an elite group of Division I teams with a dominant start

Only a few Division I basketball teams have been as dominant as the 2021 Baylor Bears. They’re off to a 15-0 start this season, and no one has even come close to beating them. The championship favorites have marked their name in a very special Division I record with their impressive start.

Besides remaining unbeaten, the Baylor Bears are also outscoring their opponents by an average of 25.7 PPG, which is the best for a Division I team. This stat has earned them a spot next to some of the best ever college basketball teams over the last 25 seasons!

It should be noted that only two among the six elite teams went on to win the National Championship! Will the 2020-21 Baylor team draw inspiration from 2007-08 Kansas or 1998-99 UConn team and make a run for the title?

Though Gonzaga Bulldogs have a better (16-0) record than Baylor, they’re not as efficient when it comes to defeating their teams by more than 25 points in the ongoing college basketball season.

The Baylor Bears have never won the Division I championship. While they’re still chasing the national title, the college program has been quite dominant over the last decade. They’ve established a solid recruiting class that has helped them surpass expectations.

The Bears are now 15-0 to start the season, but this hasn’t been their best ever performance in history. Baylor began the 2011-12 season with a 17-game winning streak, and Scott Drew’s current team just needs two more victories to match the record.

Baylor’s recent win came against Kansas State, where they trashed their opponents 107-59. They need a similar killer mentality to overcome their upcoming set of games against Auburn and the fifth-seeded Texas Longhorns.
