The Boston Celtics and the Dallas Mavericks clashed in Game 1 of the NBA Finals but not without the opening speech of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. While Silver showed the spotlight on a number of topics ranging from Caitlin Clark’s foul to the future of the cash-rich league, followers of basketball often want to know the supporting pillar behind this man of steel. 

Not many know that Silver is married to his sweetheart Maggie Grise and the two share an inseparable bond. Let’s dive in to take a close view of his wife and their personal lives.

Adam Silver and Maggie Grise – the power couple

Silver is married to a famous interior designer and decorator named Maggie Grise. Grise is the sister of Maureen Grise who is married to Canadian actor Tom Cavanagh, who appeared in a number of roles including those in Ed, Love Monkey, Trust Me, and more. Though not many details are available about Grise, her love life is nothing short of a fairytale.

Silver and Grise forged a solid bond in May 2014. Silver also appeared in an interview with Today at the Time 100 Gala in 2015 and revealed that he was going to get married soon. “You asked me about love. I’m gonna get married in May. My fiance and I would love to have a child. At least one, maybe more,” Silver remarked.

Plus, he had also expressed his wish of getting to have a child as soon as possible. Silver had then shared that he was head over heels in love with Grise who provided him a lot of support in maintaining his rise to the NBA’s top. “Took my breath away. You know, I got lost…Yeah, in a good way,” Silver expounded. 

The couple soon tied the knot in a private affair in May 2015 and only a few family members and friends were invited to the wedding. Since then Maggie has also maintained a low profile and has been away from public scrutiny. Meanwhile, Silver too is a little private about his personal life and relationships. Nonetheless, Silver’s wish to have a child was fulfilled soon.

They currently have two daughters the first of which was born in 2017 and the second was birthed during the lockdown in 2020. The name of the first is Louise Burns Silver. The pandemic brought a hold on most activities and for some it was a time of reflection while for Silver it was the perfect hour to spend his time with his family since he otherwise had a very busy life. Just like a usual person, Silver tended to his newborn daughter and provided the best care he could. 

“My wife and I had a child in the middle of this, in mid-May, a new daughter. And that’s the time of year where I would have been on the road,” Silver expounded.

Furthermore, Grise and Silver also have kept their love alive by often expressing it for each other and caring which is their love language. During an appearance on the Renaissance Man podcast, Silver revealed that his wife shaved his head during the pandemic. 

“It doesn’t grow that fast anymore. My personal barber has been my wife these days. I’m not going to show you some of the little marks on the back of my head, but about once a week,” Silver spilled the beans. But apart from her personal life, Grise is also active on social media. She shares statements by her husband along with doing charity work. 

Maggie Grise is a voice for many social issues

Grise is often seen campaigning for equal rights of women and also about the environmental impacts of technological advancement. She recently shared the Weather Report by the UN Climate Change official X handle. Plus, she also came forward to uphold women’s reproductive rights. Looks like Grise is trying to change the world by taking one step at a time.

Grise is also active in politics and sometimes shares her views by promoting content on the same. But apart from that she hasn’t garnered an audience for her creative work which might point to the fact that she is in close touch with high-profile clients and also wants to remain unhindered by the pressures of being a celebrity.

Looks like Grise knows how to manage her family and provides the impetus for Silver to touch on personal achievements. Silver since his marriage to Grise has received the top spot on Sports Business Journal’s list of 50 Most Influential People. He also occupied a place in Time’s 100 Most Influential People and Fortune’s 50 Greatest Leaders in 2015.

Grise’s love and care coupled with her people management skills must be the reason behind Silver’s mercurial rise. Fans would be wishing that Silver continues his quest and takes from one coast to another touching milestones along the way.
