In her 25th season, Kim Mulkey continues to do it all: climb the ladder of the winningest coaches, be her chill self, set the standard for courtside fashion, and show kindness in the most genuine ways. And clinching another win, LSU stays right on track, undefeated. Their latest victory over Florida was just another step in their dominant run. While the game had many things that caught fans’ attention besides the win, Mulkey’s reaction to the looming showdown against South Carolina stole the spotlight.

In the game, Mikaylah Williams dropped 22 points, Aneesah Morrow recorded her 18th double-double of the season, and Flau’Jae Johnson chipped in with 19 points. And just like that, the Lady Tigers handled Florida with an 80-63 victory, improving to 20-0 on the season and 5-0 in SEC play.

That’s their second-best start in program history. But now, they’re gearing up for what might be their toughest test yet. Thursday is going to be the game to watch. Mulkey and Co. are headed to Colonial Life Arena to face No. 2 South Carolina, a team that’s been crushing it lately.

The Gamecocks are fresh off a 101-60 demolition of No. 13 Oklahoma. The victory marked their 12th consecutive double-digit win—a program record, by the way. But Mulkey? She seems unbothered. Either she’s got nerves of steel or trusts her team like no other.

After LSU’s win over Florida, she kicked off her postgame comments with, “I can’t even think about South Carolina. I gotta think about snow and ice when I get home.” Fans, on the other hand, are super hyped to see these two juggernauts go head-to-head, and aren’t we all?

However, amid all the talk of records and rivalries, there was a touching moment during the Florida game. Kim Mulkey continued her heartwarming tradition of gifting baby presents to opposing coaches who are expecting. This time, it was Florida’s Kelly Rae Finley, who’s due in April. Earlier this season, Mulkey extended the same gesture to Tennessee’s Kim Caldwell. For Mulkey, it’s about showing that women can do both coaching and parenting.

What’s your perspective on:

Will LSU's undefeated streak survive the Gamecocks' onslaught, or is a first loss inevitable?

But this wasn’t the only ‘wow’ moment in the game as the LSU coach pulled one of her classic fashion moves.

Mulkey’s style steals the show ahead of the showdown against Dawn Staley crew

We already know that Kim Mulkey isn’t just a Hall-of-Fame coach; she’s a courtside-style icon. She’s rocked glitter, florals, and bold colors throughout her career, and this season has been no different. Remember the “hoop skirt” sweater she wore against Auburn? The one with a backboard on the front and a dangling basketball net? Iconic.

And just when you thought she couldn’t top that, she showed up in Gainesville wearing orange pants and a purple sweater adorned with basketballs swishing through nets. Social media went wild, as usual. Because Mulkey’s outfits aren’t just eye-popping. They’re truly a statement.

But don’t let her glitz and glam fool you. Mulkey means business, and so does her team. With 20 wins already this season and 20+ wins in 20 of her 25 seasons as a head coach, the head coach’s track record speaks for itself.
