A while ago, JuJu Watkins talked about her game on the No Chill podcast. When Gilbert Arenas asked her about the weaknesses she thinks she has, JuJu had a quick response. Just like the great players who know their pain points, the now USC Trojans point guard knew just what to say. She talked about her experience in the last season saying, “My handles are my weakness. A lot of small people guard me. So last season I had difficulty being shifty and learning how to get to the basket easily.”

Gilbert shared his trick on how to achieve it by shrinking yourself down so you push at more length. JuJu Watkins, Gilbert, and Mike also talked about how the various prominent legends of the game used to downside shorter guards. Magic Johnson also came up in the discussion as he would simply keep the guards on his hip level and then move away from them.

There have been instances when Magic has complimented JuJu’s playing style and sportsmanship. One incident that stands out is her game against the San Diego Toreros when she swooped the floor from below the opponents. She not only brought the victory home in that match but also broke the record for 4th 30-point game. The former Lakers shooting guard was simply dumbfounded by her tremendous exhibition. He later praised JuJu Watkins saying that she is a “Must-see-TV” and that she sets the women’s college basketball on fire.

The incredible USC freshman is only amping up her game with time. Maybe we will see her break many more records in the future. Till then, the fans can only brace themselves from the heat that this Naismith Prep Player of the Year brings with her on the court.
