It’s been three months since the start of 2025, and we’re in March now, and that only indicates one thing: March Madness. Considered one of the most iconic events in college basketball, March Madness, as its name suggests, is a literal Madness, where 68 teams compete to find ultimate glory and be crowned as the National champions.

There’s no room for error; one wrong play, and it’s all over before you even know it. With everyone’s eyes glued to this event, the question remains: When does this high-stake battle start? Where are the games telecasted of your favorite teams and players, or even better, where can you watch them live on the court? But how? Let’s find out.

The journey to glory begins

As soon as the new season of college basketball starts, the countdown to its biggest event, “March Madness,” begins, and while we still desperately await the start of the tournament the initial proceedings of the event are set in place. Starting on March 16, known as Selection Sunday, the NCAA Selection Committee will reveal the full bracket for the tournament which will be airing on CBS at 6 P.M, E.T, and just two days later, the action will begin.

Starting with the First Four matchups on March 18-19, where eight teams participate but only four make it to the first round, restricting the field of play to 64 teams. From here on out, the tension only increases with the first round scheduled on 20-21 March, the teams hardly get any room for a breather as the second round approaches.

With just 32 teams remaining, the second round of the NCAA tournament kicks off from March 22-23. By the time we reach the Sweet 16 (March 27-28) and Elite Eight (March 29-30), only the strongest teams will remain, all vying for a spot in the Final Four on April 5 at the Alamodome. Finally, we’ll wrap up this thrilling event with two undefeated teams, each putting it all on the line for a chance at glory on April 7. Wondering where to watch? Teams to watch in the NCAA Tournament

Every year, The NCAA Tournament brings equal opportunity for all the 68 teams and while every one of them is strong in their own way, some teams are slightly above the cut. Starting off with, Auburn, the Tigers have been an unstoppable force this season, with an impressive 26-2 record, and in the center of it lies, the senior forward, Johni Broome.

Speculated as the top contender for National Player of the Year, Johni has been averaging, 18.8 points, and 11 rebounds this season, and as of March, Auburn ranks No. 1 in the SEC and no one seems to be taking them down from this position.

Then there’s, Duke, who needs no introduction. The program just continues to show why they’re one of top college basketball teams in the nation. Their steady performances have earned them a second seed, guided by Cooper Flagg who is the front runner candidate for NPOY. The freshman is averaging 19.4 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, which makes the Blue Devils a championship winning team. But it wouldn’t we a tournament if there’s not an underdog in the run.

One such team, who’s defied expectations and fought its way to a No. 3 seed is St. John’s. Their fast-paced style has turned many heads as they have proved themselves that they have what it takes. The team ranks No. 1 in the Big East where defending champions UConn plays.
