The jokes on Cameron Brink fouling out in her last two games before the Cardinals’ run was over in the March Madness can’t seem to stop. Neither does the epic Hailey Van Lith shrug as Caitlin Clark completely dominated her in their Elite Eight matchup. And looks like the WNBA veterans are only taking it to the next level with Kelsey Plum, Diana Taurasi, and Sue Bird discussing the same.

ESPN’s The Bird and Taurasi Show got lit up as Plum gave everyone a parallel ending to the entire HVL-Caitlin Clark situation. While Taurasi said that she would just ignore a person who is killing her on the floor and Sue Bird agreed, Plum gave a completely different strategy. She said, “I’m not gonna lie. I would just foul out. It ain’t gonna be me.” Clearly, the veteran knows a thing or two about overcoming embarrassing moments that could stay in everyone’s memories for a long time.

However, with Brink present on the mic, Taurasi couldn’t help but utter, “Speaking of fouling out, Cam is back.” Certainly, she was hinting at the tragic ending of the college basketball career for the Stanford standout. While it is all done and said in fun, Brink’s take on the jokes was the ultimate good sport level.

While both seniors Van Lith and Brink may have become a focus for trolling in their final games in the 2024 March Madness run, they did not let them get to their hearts or minds. In fact, they already have new avenues to look forward to as they enter the next season.

What’s next for Cameron Brink and Hailey Van Lith?

The Naismith Defensive Player of the Year, Cameron Brink, had already announced her WNBA decision before her NCAA tourney ended. Hence, she will be checking out the professional grounds before landing on a team. On the other hand, Hailey Van Lith may or may not join JuJu Watkins on the USC roster after entering the transfer portal for the second straight year, as per reports. She also has a path to UConn who also got a defeat at the hands of Caitlin Clark tonight. However, she will have to take up a secondary role in both the locker rooms, which she is not a fan of.

It will be interesting to see what these two powerful athletes can do for their next teams. But until then, we have a huge NCAA finale coming up. One side is being reigned by South Carolina and their, what seems to be an endless, unbeaten streak this season. On the other side, the one-man army of Caitlin Clark, who transformed her entire Iowa roster into warriors.

What makes this matchup even spicier is the fact that the Hawkeyes are the only team to beat South Carolina over the past TWO seasons. And that happened in their Final Four matchup last year.
