Watkins looked pleased after her blistering performance that helped Trojans win the match. She spoke highly of her teammates for complementing her game: “Yeah, I mean… great defensive plan by them trying to stop me but I think that me trying to get my… me trying to get my teammates more involved looking for air on the road when the double comes. That was key to this game. This was definitely a team game, we won. Everybody had double digits so I’m just glad that we came out with the dub.”

Wildcats did employ their best defense against Watkins & Co. and made it a low-scoring match. The two teams had a neck-to-neck competition before Trojans won with only three points. Watkins was the highest scorer for Trojans. Her 17 points and 8 rebounds propelled the team to the semifinals. The other player who helped Watkins in her pursuit was Marshall scoring 15 points along with a whopping 15 rebounds. The double trouble hurt Wildcats’ plans of domination.

Can Trojans win it?

Trojans would be looking to continue their on-song performance. And with Watkins by their side, they look to be a better balanced team than Bruins. If they win this game, then they will make a place for themselves in the Finals and square off against the winner from the match between Oregon State and Stanford Cardinal.
