The LSU Tigers finished third in the South Eastern Conference last season. They were predicted to finish third, and they lived up to it. But this season, they are doing their best in the off-season to announce themselves as a top team once again.

A couple of days back, coach Will Wade announced the transfer of point guard Adam Miller. He played as the backup behind Ayo Dosunmu last season, and now he will be hoping for a bigger role in Louisiana. And now they have made their biggest move of the season by bringing in Efton Reid from IMG Academy.

The five-star prospect is ranked 24th in the country in the 2021 class. He is also the third best ranked center in the country, which makes this a very exciting signing. Reid is a 6’11 skilled center, who is an adept passer and shooter. While he isn’t the most athletic player from his class, he is a decent defender right now, and will have to step up for the NCAA.

Wade feels Reid can be the difference maker for the Tigers to return to contention. “We just haven’t had that the last two years,” he said. “That’s been the difference from when we won the league two-three years ago and coming in second and third. I’m sick of coming in second and third, I want to get back to winning it. That was a huge, huge piece that we just haven’t had.”

LSU Tigers are now ranked 7th nationally

Reid is the Tigers’ fourth recruit of the off-season. The Tigers previously brought in two four-star prospects: Jerrell Colbert and Brandon Murray, and a three-star prospect: Bradley Ezewiro. Colbert is from Houston, while Murray was a teammate of Reid at IMG Academy. Ezewiro is from Oak Hill Academy.

These four prospects reflect the strong committing run from Coach Wade. This has taken them to the seventh rank in the country for team rankings. He isn’t ready to settle for second or third best, and is aiming to be at the top of the SEC. The Tigers also want to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament after a second run exit in the 2021 edition.

Along with Adam Miller, the Tigers have also brought in Seneca Knight, Tari Eason and Xavier Pinson via transfers. They look like a strong team already. The SEC will be put on notice now, as the Tigers aim to return to the top.
