The LSU Tigers have stormed their way in the NCAA with three back-to-back dominant victories. After getting a reality check in their first game, the Lady Tigers have redeemed themselves in a convincing fashion. The NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player for 2023 — Angel Reese — has also started to bloom in the tournament.

However, the Bayou Barbie is not the only player to watch out for this season. The LSU locker room has a range of potential superstars ready to make an impact this season.

Angel Reese gets some back-up

The women’s basketball roster of the Lady Tigers is filled with big-time performers eager to make an impression. In the first four games of their campaign, fans witnessed different players delivering for the defending champions. LSU’s captain Angel Reese who led the Tigers to championship glory last season already has 3 doubles-doubles this season and is currently averaging 17.0 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. But the legitimate All-American is not the only one getting all the limelight.

The No. 12 of the LSU Tigers, Mikaylah Williams turned on the heat lately as she scripted her name in the record books. The talented point guard landed 42 points which is the highest for a freshman in NCAA. Furthermore, the sophomore forward from Texas, Sa’Myah Smith has also made headlines with an average of 16.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. The SEC Freshman of the Year last season Flau’jae Johnson has made valuable contributions in the three games that she played. She sits on a healthy average of 8.7 points per game.

Worthy new additions of LSU

Kim Mulkey has added two fresh faces to her squad before the start of this year’s campaign. Haley van Lith served as a shooting guard in her former team at Louisville. However, she has perfectly adjusted herself as a point guard for the head coach in her debut season for LSU. The previous All-America honorable mention is currently averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 assists.

In addition to this, national freshman of the year Aneesah Morrow has also been focused and productive for LSU. The All-American gave her best figures Tuesday night scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds to go with 2 assists and 2 blocks. Moreover, she also got 9 steals to her name which is just one short of the LSU record.
