LSU Freshman Gets the Nod from Angel Reese as 19 YO Breaks NCAA’s Top Defense

The LSU Tigers are building up a robust roster. More so, to ensure their happy days continue even after their 2023 NCAA MVP graduates. And the chips are falling in place. Freshman arrival, center Aalyah Del Rosario is performing incredibly well. In fact, she was able to tackle the nation’s top defense in Texas A&M.

Following the same, Angel Reese praised the new face on the roster and how her contribution got another win in LSU’s bag.

With only 26 games in, Aalyah Del Rosario is already claiming her spot on the LSU roster. She played a pivotal role in bringing Texas A&M down tonight with her defensive strengths in action. Consequently, Angel Reese, who is known for leading her team with utter motivation, cheered for her teammate’s achievement. She gave her a shout-out on her Instagram story saying, “Tell em Mack Truck!”

A huge difference for the Tigers tonight came when Del Rosario blocked three shots from Lauren Ware. This was in a mere 17 seconds of the second quarter but surely affected the entire backbone of the Aggies. Evidently, Lauren Ware is the defensive leader in the Aggies roster averaging 10.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. In tonight’s game, Lauren collected 6 points, and 9 rebounds, 2 assists.

Further, Aalyah Del Rosario is surely showing a promising start to her college career at LSU.

The impactful center of the Tigers is already performing decently when it comes to her stats. Currently, her average points are 6.0 per game with a field goal accuracy of 53.6% per game. Moreover, her rebound rate at present is 4.3 per game. She also has a fine free-throw accuracy with 59.2% this season so far. Before joining Angel Reese and the Lady Tigers, Del Rosario also grabbed a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA Under-18 World Cup in Argentina.

Kim Mulkey is well-known for her recruits and she proves it yet again by bringing in a player like Aalyah.
