As the WNBA Draft 2025 gets closer, things are heating up. While it’s pretty much a done deal that Paige Bueckers will go first overall (I mean, who’s surprised?), it’s the No. 2 and No. 3 picks that are sparking all the chatter. And Notre Dame’s Olivia Miles is right in the mix, and fans are already buzzing with excitement and speculation.

Initially projected as the No. 4 pick in ESPN’s early mock draft, Miles wasn’t pegged as a top-three lock—yet. Concerns about her health, particularly after a serious knee injury that sidelined her for the 2023 postseason and the 2023-24 season, loomed large.

On top of that, questions about her 3-point shooting left some skeptics hesitant to bump her up the list. But if you’ve been paying attention this season, you know Miles is proving them wrong in the best way possible. After a long recovery, she wasted no time reminding everyone why she was the face of Notre Dame basketball.

The guard opened the season, recording a triple-double in her first game. Fast forward to Notre Dame’s nonconference finale against Loyola (Maryland), and Miles added yet another triple-double to her already impressive resume. That’s her fifth triple-double in college, the most by any player in Notre Dame history, men or women.

For the season, Miles is averaging a stunning 17.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.4 assists, shooting an incredible 57% from the field and nearly 48% from beyond the arc. Her numbers scream lottery pick, and fans are taking notice.

Recently, a graphic featuring Los Angeles Sparks stars Dearica Hamby, Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson—and Olivia Miles—went viral. The Sparks, holding the second lottery pick, have fans wondering: Could Miles land in L.A.? But a few are desperately calling to join Angel Reese & crew.

Is Olivia Miles Chicago-Bound or L.A.-Locked? Fans can’t stop guessing

What’s your perspective on:

Is Olivia Miles the missing piece for Chicago's 3-point woes, or will L.A. snag her?

Have an interesting take?

The Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks are two hot destinations for the senior guard, but honestly, it’s anyone’s guess. Comment sections are lighting up, with takes like, Unhand her. She is coming to Chicago! And they’ve got a point. The Chicago Sky is desperate for a sharpshooter.

Another added, “This is suppose to be Olivia, Chennedy, Angel, and Kamilla. The Sky is dead last in the league in 3-point attempts (14.5) and makes (4.5) per game, with an uninspiring 30.7% from deep. But with a backcourt already boasting stars like Carter, ‘Double-Double Queen,’ and one of the league’s best finishers in Kamilla Cardoso, adding a sniper like Olivia Miles could be the perfect solution.

One fan chimed in, 2nd overall pick goes hard.” Although Kiki Iriafen, now at USC, has been projected as the No. 2 pick, Olivia Miles has been on an absolute tear this season. Putting pretty good numbers and impressive shooting, she is giving front offices a lot to think about.

Another LA fan wrote, “I was thinking the same thing, Sparks need a PG not another forward.” It’s true. Last year, the Sparks picked up Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson, bolstering their forward lineup. But the one thing they’re missing is a point guard with range, vision, and the ability to stretch the floor.

Olivia checks every box.

Still, not everyone is convinced. One skeptical fan joked, “They’re drafting Kiki lol.” It’s not far-fetched. Brink’s injury last season and Jackson’s All-Rookie status make Iriafen a tempting pick to round out a dominant young frontcourt trio. Also, she is already familiar with the Trojans’ home base at the Galen Center.

So, where does this leave Olivia Miles? With her stock climbing, will she jump into the top three? Could she push Iriafen out and head to L.A., or will Chicago snag her to solve their 3-point dilemma? For now, it’s hard to say. Where do you think she’ll land? Let us know in the comments!
