Zach Edey and the Purdue Boilermakers faced off against the Tennessee Volunteers in a highly anticipated match today. Seeing the No. 2 ranked team lock horns with a No.7 ranked team, the fans roared with excitement in the arena. But in a turn of events, many were left disappointed by the style of play and the players of Tennessee.
Purdue center, Zach Edey, was targeted time and again by the opposing team at every possible chance to make a play. The clash between these two powerhouses has made fans question the fairness of referee decisions on the court.

From the start of the match, players of both teams were involved in a bitter physical contest. Standing at 7 feet and 4 inches, however, it was Edey who became the target of the Volunteers. The opposing team knew what danger he brought with his towering figure and impeccable scoring ability, and afraid of losing, they took the path that’s often a contingency.
Every time, Edey made his way towards the basket he was fouled, and what made things worse for the Boilermakers were the referees turning their eyes from these apparently awful plays. Seeing such sportsmanship by the Volunteers and the questionable refereeing, Boilermakers fans were outraged as they took to social media to express their disappointment.
One fan said, “And they definitely are letting Edey get mugged multiple times. When they allow it too much, Tennessee gets upset when they finally call something.”

Another fan said, “That’s a polite way of saying “The referees suck”. Tennessee has literally fouled Edey every time down the floor. Every time.” One fan could not believe how bad the fouls were, “That is an absolutely awful foul call on Zach Edey. Awful.”
Disappointed by seeing the young player get fouled again and again, one fan said “Zach Edey gets fouled on every single possession down the floor.”

While one said, “Awful, awful, awful! Big difference between being physical and outright fouling. UT is hacking Edey every damn play!!”
Despite facing such obstacles, the Boilermakers emerged victorious with a final score of 71 – 67.
