An unusual incident invited attention in the recent Atlantic Coast fixture between the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Pittsburg Panthers. The disappointing 50-65 loss of the Panthers at home was a less talked about point among fans than what transpired moments before the game reached its final buzzer.

It would appear that an unsuccessful endeavor to get an offensive foul by Pittsburg’s Marley Washenitz resulted in her getting an unwanted spotlight. Filled with the opinions, comments soon started flooding and had the King himself in the mix.

A team technical against the Panthers

The game was moving at a brisk pace with Wake Forest leading the Pittsburg Panthers 59-48 in the penultimate quarter. At this time, the Demon Deacons No.2 Kaia Harrison was looking for an opportunity to score. At the same time, Pittsburg’s sophomore guard Marley Washenitz was trying to block her. Some fans brought the Lakers power forward LeBron James into the picture. Seemingly, they opined that it is one of James’ moves. Comments like, “She learned this from LJ,” and, “Now The Lebabyflop is trickling down to girls B- Ball , the goat of the Flop, “ are some examples of the insult directed towards the all-time leading NBA scorer.

In addition to this, some made comments on her ability to charge an opponent. An observer said, “Taking a charge is an art. She needs lessons.” 

Meanwhile, there were some who extended their support to Washenitz. One comment read, “I have seen a dozen far worse flops not called this season. Several of them were called blocks; the others were no calls.”

Further, one sports enthusiast was quick to notice what her facial expressions were at that time. He said, “She doesn’t look shocked.”

Also, two-time NBA champion Shane Battier was also dragged into this conversation. One reaction was, “Shane Battier made a college career out of that.”
