Jaylen Brown and Kysre Gondrezick have been in the spotlight since confirming their relationship during the summer of 2024. The couple made their public debut at the 2024 ESPY Awards in July. During the events, the Boston Celtics player referred to Gondrezick as his “beautiful date.” That was followed by a lavish 27th birthday celebration of Gondrezick at the end of July.

Gondrezick, a WNBA free agent took to Instagram to show off her pricey gifts, which included a trip to Brazil, several Chanel bags, huge bouquets of roses and sunflowers, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a romantic boat ride. “Leo season 🥂,” she captioned the post. In one of the photos, Gondrezick posed with a huge bouquet of pink and red roses. In a second snap, she and Brown, also 27, were photographed walking down a hallway together. If these were not enough, in the very next month, she posted some intriguing snaps on Instagram.

Gondrezick shared a collage of photos, which featured the Celtics star, some designer gifts, and other moments from her birthday. “Life lately,” Gondrezick, 27, captioned her post. Interestingly, one snapshot included a piece of cake with Brown’s face on it. Another photo, taken on Aug. 4, showed her arm with a gold and black Van Cleef & Arpels bracelet on, presumably criss-crossed with his arm. All these naturally sparked expectations of Gondrezick’s appearance courtside during Celtics games in the 2024-25 NBA season. However, fans were left disappointed as those were scarce.

The last time Gondrezick was publicly seen at a Celtics-related event was during the team’s championship parade in June, where she joined Finals MVP Jaylen Brown on one of the floats, celebrating in front of millions of fans. Since then, updates about her attending games have been nonexistent—until recently, when she made a surprising appearance at a basketball game, but not for the Celtics.

Kysre was spotted courtside at the University of Detroit Mercy game on Sunday, cheering on her brother, Grant Gondrezick II. Sharing her excitement with her followers, she posted a video on Instagram applauding Grant’s performance from the sidelines. “Light 20 piece! Super proud of you,” read the caption.

Grant delivered an impressive 20-point performance, shooting 8-for-18 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, while also grabbing three rebounds. Despite his efforts, Detroit Mercy couldn’t overcome the Wisconsin Badgers, falling 76-53 at the Kohl Center. It was Grant’s second career 20-point game. But look at Kysre’s timing of posting her story.

She did it just after the Celtics played against the Orlando Magic on Monday. The point is, despite the Celtics’ 104-108 loss, Jaylen Brown played his part well in that. Brown poured in 35 points on 51.7% shooting from the field, though he struggled from beyond the arc, making just 14.3% of his three-point attempts. But looks like that failed to impress his Lady Love as she remained truthful to her family ties. And why not? After all, she indeed has the basketball background to boast.

Basketball runs deep in the Gondrezick family. Kysre, her brother Grant, and her sister Kalabrya inherited their talent from their parents. Their father, the late Grant Gondrezick Sr., played collegiate basketball at Pepperdine and spent six years in the NBA, while their mother, Lisa Harvey, was a national champion at Louisiana Tech. Tragically, Grant Sr. passed away in 2009 at the age of 53 due to heart failure.

“Coming from a basketball heritage…basketball runs in my blood,” she told Indiana Fever’s Pat Boylan. “I think it comes very natural and instinctive to me and my IQ is something that people are enamored with so being around the game at a young age allows me to be free when I’m playing and fully understand the game from both ends.”

Kysre was drafted into the WNBA in 2021 as the fourth overall pick by the Indiana Fever. “Hard work pays off,” Gondrezick told Boylan after getting drafted in April 2021. “This journey has not been easy. I played catch up for a long time, so it was kind of like proof to let me know you’ve finally caught up, and it’s time to take off.” She added that when she saw her name announced on the screen, she felt relief that all the adversity she faced was worth it and she could “finally breathe.”

In January 2022, Gondrezick was waived by the Fever and joined the Chicago Sky’s training camp shortly after that. She did not make the final roster for opening night, but in February 2024 she returned to the camp. In May, she played her first game for the team on their Opening Day roster. She played alongside Angel Reese and the two seemingly formed a close bond, occasionally making TikToks together. Gondrezick was released from the Chicago Sky in June 2024.

Just last week, she shared a video of herself practicing on the court, fueling speculation that she might soon return to the women’s basketball league. As for her relationship with Jaylen Brown, the couple continues to slay together. The two posed together at New York Fashion Week. While Kyre Gondrezick wore a beige blazer with navy pants, JB was stunning in an all-black outfit. Not just that, the couple has memories of enjoying a desert safari vacation in September last year.
