The regular season has almost ended for most teams. Among them, LSU played their last regular season game against Kentucky Wildcats on Sunday. Lady Tigers decimated Wildcats by a 77-56 margin and that had all the LSU fans cheering for the team. But it was the head coach’s transient walkout that caught everyone’s attention.
In the first half of the game, Kim Mulkey left for a few minutes. Her sudden move left everyone curious about her whereabouts.

A journalist asked Mulkey the same question in the press conference which had Mulkey talking about one of her most liked songs. She, however, lost her cool in the moment which had the whole conference room go silent after seeing her reaction. A YT short of the same was circulated on the internet.
“Went to get the flowers for the presentations like what are you going to do in six seconds that’s not going to make me mad. So, go get a flower. You know flowers make women feel good. Did you know that? There’s a… there’s a song and remember this cause I’m not being funny here. Bring my flowers now while I’m living. Go listen to it old Tanya Tucker sings probably the best version. Bring my flowers now while I’m living and I mean that. I just went out to see if they had all set up for it to go and I turned back around and met him at half court,” Mulkey stated.
The game was important in more than one way. It was the last regular season game other than being the senior day for LSU stars. Both LSU’s key players in this season Angel Reese and Hailey van Lith are in their senior year. While Reese is spending her second year with the Tigers after transferring from the Maryland Terrapins, Van Lith is in her first year with the Lady Tigers after getting away from Louisville Cardinals.

The ceremony for the same took place at halftime when the NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal was seen accompanying Reese as her “Uncle.” He also shook hands with Mulkey and Reese was honored with a picture of the LSU Lady Tigers. Reese’s mother Angel Webb Reese was also present at the Pete Maravich Assembly Centre and it sure was an emotional moment for the LSU star. May be that’s what helped the seniors deliver exceptional performances.
How did they perform?
While Reese smoked a whopping 22 points and nabbed 14 rebounds, Van Lith thrashed 15 points. Their quest for the win was well supported by other LSU athletes namely Aneesah Morrow and Flau’jae Johnson who smashed 15 and 21 points respectively. Morrow also battered a double-double with 10 rebounds. LSU propelled with these performances ended the game on a high.
