The Kansas Jayhawks and the Kentucky Wildcats are one of the best teams in the league of college basketball. Over the years both of these teams have put on a show for the fans. The 2023-24 NCAA season took off in early November this year, and the performances of these two basketball powerhouses have caught the attention of enthusiasts far and wide. Both of these teams have embarked on their unique journey, with their triumphs and tribulations. However, when the season ends, there can be only one winner. 

Who’ll be first among the equals?

The Kentucky Wildcats have played ten matches so far in the ongoing NCAA season, out of which they have won eight. The Wildcats started the season with a huge victory over the New Mexico State Aggies with the final score of 86-46. The only losses they have recorded so far were against the Kansas Jayhawks and the UNC Wilmington Seahawks. Other than these, they have won all their matches with an average score difference of 22.3 points per game.

On the other hand, their rivals, the Jayhawks have played eleven matches so far, out of which they have won ten and lost one. The Jayhawks also started this NCAA season with a flawless victory over the North Carolina Central Eagles with the final score of 99-56. Since that, they went on a winning streak as they won four back-to-back matches, before recording their first loss of the season.

The only match they have lost so far was against the Marquette Golden Eagles. Aside from that, they have won all their matches with an average score difference of 16.6. They have also played a match against the Wildcats which they won with the final score of 89-84. Even against some of the best teams like UConn, Tennessee, Kansas City, and many more they have won every single match.

As the 2023-24 NCAA season heads to more action-packed drama, the rivalry between the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kentucky Wildcats intensifies, leaving fans eagerly anticipating each matchup. Notably, these are the standout players on both teams.

The shooting stars

When it comes to talking about shooters, both of them have some of the best players who have ice in their veins. The Jayhawks leading shooter is Kevin McCullar Jr. who is currently averaging 19.2 points per game. However, the Wildcats have Antonio Reeves who is the lead scorer with 17.1 points per game on average.

Even when it comes to rebounds, the Jayhawks are leading with 12.7 rebounds per game by Hunter Dickinson. Whereas, Tre Mitchell of the Wildcats secures 6.2 rebounds per game.
