Despite Washington’s outstanding performance, his team ultimately lost the game 82-81 in overtime, but not before he tied the score in regulation with a spectacular 3-pointer right before the buzzer went off. The sophomore player’s point total of 33 was particularly noteworthy because it coincidentally matched his uncle’s high school jersey number.“It means a lot playing in the house he built and playing where he played,” says the high schooler.
Throughout the game, Washington’s unwavering energy and extraordinary abilities were on full display, making it clear that he has all the makings of a rising star in high school basketball. His effort and commitment were recognized and praised, even in the face of the close loss.

It’s worth noting that Washington is not just a talented basketball player. Standing at an impressive six feet five, he is also a gifted multi-sport athlete. In fact, he was a safety on his high school football team, which was unbeaten during his time there.
The Coastal Catholic Classic, which included Catholic high school basketball teams, allowed Washington to showcase his skills in two different sports. All in all, the match was a thrilling display of athleticism, skill, and passion, and Washington’s performance was truly remarkable.
