This NCAA season’s landscape is giving a fresh vibe of emerging talents reigning on the floor. Debutants like JuJu Watkins and MiLaysia Fulwiley are grabbing all the attention with their remarkable skillset and showmanship. These dynamic players have infused a blend of unique gameplay in their respective teams.

Now, as the season unfolds, fans might witness more firecrackers, with a spotlight shining brightly over the duo leading their path to become great players of the big leagues.

Fiery Freshmen

JuJu Watkins is the No.1 women’s basketball player all across the United States. In her debut game against Ohio State, she scored 32 points and broke the debuting record of the Trojans legend Lisa Leslie. The USC Trojans guard’s debut score contributed to #21 USC’s win over #7 Ohio. Her addition indeed made the team perform better.

On the other hand, there is the Gamecocks guard MiLaysia FulWiley. Averaged 14.5 points, 1 rebound, and 4 assists per game, the highly touted recruit is certainly expected to have an impactful season ahead. Interestingly, MiLaysia is the only player not to start on the opening day, however, her strategic performance made it impossible for Coach Staley to keep her away from the hardwood.

Having unmatched athleticism, high-scoring ability, and dynamic playmaking skills, these rising stars are set to take the season by storm and redefine the face of women’s college basketball. Notably, one such player is Notre Dame’s guard Hannah Hidalgo. Averaging 26 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, she is a rare bright spot.

In just 24 games she played, she has already scored around 700 points, 153 rebounds, 122 assists, 7 blocks, and 176 steals. Now, that’s an impressive freshman score. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the FIBA Under-19 Women’s Basketball World Cup held in Spain, as she won gold.

Next in line is the LSU Tigers’ guard Mikaylah Williams. She ranks the No. 2 player in the freshman class nationwide in the US. So far, she has played 34 games averaging 17.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. Moreover, she was named the MVP as she scored 34 points and 11 rebounds which contributed to her team’s State Championship victory.

Now, talking about spearheading, there is no better freshman than Betzalys Delgado. Having played for just 3 games (87 minutes), Delgado made 12 field goals, 9 2-pointers and 3 3-pointers. Also, she grabbed 17 rebounds. These numbers are bound to improve as the season progresses further.
