Every moment passes off to make way for the next. The reality of the day is irrespective of whether someone is a great athlete or not, one has to retire. While some players take in their stride others find it difficult to get off the court. And some start off with their coaching journeys. One such man has been Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski who opened up on his retirement.
For the unversed, Krzyzewski also fondly known as coach K coached Duke University for a whopping 42 years and led them to five national titles. Only second to UCLA’s John Wooden. Let’s look at what the terrific coach had to say.

Coach K spoke out his retirement at length in The Field of 68 podcast in September. The 76-year-old hung his thinking caps in 2022 and was invited to the podcast to discuss a wide variety of topics from discussing the authority of coaches to his retirement leisures.
Coach K just like his transparent team management didn’t mince any words while expressing his true opinion. “I’m on the road a lot more, but I love that. I’m really happy busy and right now, so… It’s been terrific.”
Podcast hosts Rob Dauster and Jeff Goodman also questioned him on the minute details to get a piece of overall information about the same, and also asked him to divulge his views on his family life.
For the unversed, the Blue Devils under him won as many as 5 NCAA titles. They also made it to 13 Final Fours (the most of any coach), apart from 15 clinching ACC tournament championships, and 13 ACC regular season titles. He has also coached the US National team and propelled them to gold medals at the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympics.
Although Mike still a holds a position in the university, it really needs to be seen how Duke University will perform in NCAA without him in the long run.

Will his successor live up to the fan’s expectations? Or will the Blue Devils struggle to win the championship this year? Share your thoughts in the comments!
