Missing out on the contributions that the Duke junior guard Jared McCain brings to the court is impossible, and so are his painted nails. What began as a means to end a habit quickly turned into a game-winning superstition. But what is the history behind him coloring his nails with the Blue Devils’ colors and winning? And does it have anything to do with his latest and one of its kind NIL deals with Sally Hansen?

But if you are wondering why he began painting his nails in the first place, the freshman guard revealed that it has simple practical reasons. The primary reason is that it stops him from biting his nails. Another is that it is a part of his self-care routine, something he prioritizes.
