LSU added another impressive win to their campaign. In the absence of their star attraction Angel Reese, the defending champions pulled off an amazing performance by defeating the Lady Lions 73-50 away from home. However, head coach Kim Mulkey is under fire following her post-game comments.

After the game, Mulkey addressed the media. In a rather interesting turn of events, the 61-year-old ended the press conference in an unusual way. When asked why Reese did not join the team on Tuesday, she hinted at a health condition.

In a special one-on-one interview with Jacques Doucet of WAFB-TV, Mulkey said, “I ain’t a sissy, I don’t have allergies. It’s some kind of cold, it might be COVID, but I ain’t testing. It’s some kind of flu. So if y’all get the flu for Thanksgiving, blame it on me.” The absurd end to the interview begged a lot of attention for the LSU’s boss. Many basketball fans are also calling her out for being cryptic and shady. However, her performance with the team has proven that she is only doing what’s best for the LSU Tigers.

Earlier during the interview, the reporters were eagerly waiting for her to give an explanation of Angel Reese’s absence. She simply assured them that Angel is a part of the team and would shortly make a return. When the interviewers pressed her for more details, Mulkey denied disclosing any further info.

Mulkey reflects on LSU’s win

Following her win, the ESPN SEC Network asked Mulkey’s opinions about the team’s performance. She replied, “I thought that we scored the ball decent. I think we’re still trying to figure out defensively. It’s good to be here, it’s a great crowd. It’s good to be back home. We get tomorrow off and now we’ll get ready for Texas Southern on Monday.” Apparently, the Lady Tigers were seen struggling in their defensive game. Nonetheless, Mulkey is hopeful that they will improve on that front and come out better in their game against the Southern Tigers.

Kim Mulkey’s post-match antics had put her on the receiving end of some reporters and fans alike. However, the NCAA championship-winning coach needs to get ready for LSU’s next encounter on Monday. She will be expecting her team to continue winning and carry on the momentum.
