He joined the Gamecocks’ roster last season, but Chloe Kitts played a pivotal role in the team’s success, even as a freshman. Her versatile gameplay led the team achieve a program-record of 36 wins along with an undefeated 16-0 record in the SEC. To say the least, Kitts is a part of the team that set program records in scoring points, rebounds, and rebounding margin, along with an NCAA record for blocked shots per game. This brewing star scored her first career SEC points shooting a couple of field goals against Auburn. Her efficient moves dropped jaws especially when she grabbed 5 rebounds, a block and a steal within 5 minutes against Missouri.

In the 2023-24 regular season, she has averaged 9.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. More recently, her performance was so remarkable, delivering double-double in the first round against Presbyterian with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Just like her on-court prowess has caught everyone’s attention, her off-court life too is equally sporty.

So, who is Chloe Kitts dating?

Is she really dating a college football player? No, however, she is rumored to be dating South Carolina’s men’s basketball team’s freshman forward Collin Murray-Boyles. Notably, their Instagram profile pictures say a lot more than just words. On one hand, Collin’s Instagram pic showcases Murray-Boyles holding Kitts in his arms, while Kitts’ profile picture showcases her holding the rim with Murray-Boyles carrying her in up. This depicts their strong connection and mutual support for one another.

Coming back to their relationship, Kitts has been quite active on Instagram. In one of Murray-Boyles posts from January, Kitts wrote, “oh heyyy” in the commentsMoving on to February, she wrote, “all eyes on you 30” on a video montage of the game against Ole Miss that he had posted. While in a recent one she went into fangirl mode as she wrote, “my fav hooper.” 

Although, they haven’t given any direct comments confirming their relationship status, however, their romantic exchange on social media has caught the eyes of many. Critical to notice, the rumors of them being together caught fire when Kitts stated, “That’s my man” in a viral video, possibly referring to Murray-Boyles. It was the night when Murray-Boyles had a career-night as he scored 16 points against Ole Miss, leading the team to a 68-65 win. Since his debut against Clemson, he is steadily becoming a fan favorite.

Let’s get into some details about his on-court journey.

The emergence of Collin Murray-Boyles

Born in June, 2005, Murray-Boyles’ basketball journey began at A.C. Flora High School in Forest Acres, South Carolina. There, during his junior season, he averaged in double-double with 18.3 points, and 11.4 rebounds, along with 5.3 blocks per game, carrying his team to the state championship. As a result, he was named the Class 4A Player of the Year.

After spending two more year at Flora, he then transferred to Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant in Utah for his senior season. There, he averaged 15 points and 8.8 rebounds per game and ranked 3rd in points and 1st in rebounds respectively, within the conference. His remarkable gameplay earned him a consensus 4-star recruit status and also, he secured a spot among the top 100 players across the United States due to his performance at Wasatch. He then committed to play for the Gamecocks.

However, before making his college debut as a Gamecock, Murray-Boyles contracted infectious mononucleosis, aka glandular fever, which is an infection caused by the EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus). This infection in young adults often results in fever, sore throat, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and fatigue. As a result, Murray-Boyles missed a significant time before his collegiate basketball career could take off this season.

Then, his time began at South Carolina where he became the top player upon return. He was also named the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Freshman of the Week in February, followed by his 31-point game against Vanderbilt.  Though a freshman, Murray-Boyles’ regular season average tallied 10.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, shooting beyond the arc with 59.7%. In this season, he has accoladed 292 points, 159 rebounds, 49 assists, 28 blocks, and 29 steals. In addition, at the end of the regular season he was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

As one of the younger players in the upcoming potential draftees’ class, Murray-Boyles will be turning 19, just over two before this year’s NBA draft of 2024. As mentioned above, he performed impressively throughout as a freshman. In other words, he is the rising college basketball star who has the combination of commendable skillset.

His 6-foot-7 stance resonates with the size of an NBA wing. Moreover, his efficiency is more prominent at the rim as he takes majority of his shots from there. His physicality allows him to attack the glass along with finishing though contact while attempting a shot. He is quick on his feet reflects his efficiency in the paint. Additionally, Murray-Boyles does have the potential of becoming an assist-leader as he ball pass blends with the chemistry of the team.

For what it’s worth, he is still growing in his collegiate role, and in his off-court life too.
