There is no denying that the 6’9″ center of the NC State who has been bringing successes one after the other for the team has an immaculate offensive front. But can DJ Burns Jr. use that talent for the NFL? While the talented Wolfpack member has clearly stated that basketball is his primary plan, his not-so-straight no to other possibilities at ‘The Dan Patrick Show’ point otherwise.

The 275-pound Beast Boy has found some of the managers from the National Football League knocking on his door. In fact, NFL Network reporter Peter Schrager recently tweeted about his conversations with various NFL authorities to take a look at what DJ Burns can do for the sport.

Turns out, Burns’ footwork is the key to his path as a footballer. Previously, the sideline reporter also complimented Burns on his ‘The Season’ podcast where he also brought in the 4x Super Bowl Champion Jim Nagy. Schrager had said that looking at his body and how nimble he is as he moves through the paint is something footballers do. He also applauded his footwork saying that is something that the offensive line coaches spend years trying to develop.

With one person really climbing on the bandwagon to bring DJ to the NFL, is this all a real thing?

Is the NFL really interested in DJ Burns Jr.?

Actually, yes. Apart from Schrager, Nagy has also been vocal about the same thing. His recent tweet clarified that “NFL interest in D.J. Burns is a real thing.” He has also asked his followers that he can’t be the only person thinking about Burns kick-sliding in pass pro or getting out on pulls.

While the NFL looks very much interested in him, Kevin Keatts’ beloved is all about basketball. He has previously mentioned that he is not putting any options away for now. However, he would also give priority to playing basketball overseas before choosing a sport that is not in his primary comfort zone.

DJ Burns is in his last year of eligibility for college basketball. Whether he steps down from hooping to try waters on the football field or stays in the sport to grab more accolades, for now, he is giving his best self to bring huge Ws for NC State, including the upset win over Duke.
