After securing back-to-back gold medals, there was pressure on Team USA. Washington native Hailey Van Lith had high hopes going into the Women’s 3×3 basketball tournament. However, luck wasn’t on their side this year. With the players now back home after winning the bronze medal, Van Lith has received tons of praise from fans for her perseverance as most of the team members take their much-needed break. 

Just recently, the former LSU star excitedly shared the news of acquiring her master’s degree. But, one person was notably missing from the picture, Van Lith’s boyfriend.

Hailey Van Lith is making her parents proud 

Clad in a gorgeous brown-hued top and long skirt, the former LSU star posed for the camera while holding her master’s degree. The last two slides showed Van Lith posing with her mother, Jessica Van Lith, and her father, Corey Van Lith. As per sources, Van Lith’s mother is the co-owner of Van Lith Developments and Excavations. Jessica originally worked as an interior designer before moving to business.

The bronze medal winner might have inherited her athletic genes from her father, who was a baseball player. Although her father never pursued baseball professionally, he recognized his daughter’s potential in basketball. He would take her to John Newberry Gym to practice. Since then, Van Lith hasn’t looked back.

As a valuable and promising player for every team she has been a part of, Van Lith has made the nation proud by winning gold medals on several international platforms. That hasn’t stopped the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Cup star from following her passion for completing her education. However, her boyfriend, Jalen Suggs, is nowhere to be seen in the picture. Did the two break up?

Is Hailey Van Lith dating Jalen Suggs?

Suggs, who is 23 years old, currently plays for the Orlando Magic. It’s not known when they began dating, but his girlfriend, Van Lith, was seen celebrating and supporting him by his side in New York when he was drafted as the 5th pick. Suggs made an official announcement with a tweet. The two are extremely secretive about their relationship, with little to no pictures of them together on their social media handles. 

Back in July, Van Lith posted a cryptic Instagram message, “Alexander and I had a night out together,” amidst the rumors that the two have broken up. Like Van Lith, Suggs too had his father, who is a basketball coach, guiding him throughout his journey to the NBA.

Oklahoma City Thunder star Chet Holmgren, often compared to Victor Wembanyama, was also coached by Suggs’ father. It’s possible that the TCU Horned Frogs star is still dating the NBA player, or it could be that the two have called it quits. 

Hailey Van Lith talks about transferring to TCU

At her age, Van Lith is achieving remarkable feats. She had an incredible run with the Louisville Cardinals before joining Angel Reese at LSU. However, she couldn’t fulfill the championship hopes as LSU fell to Caitlin Clark and Iowa in the Elite Eight. 

Van Lith explained how her college experience helped her for the 2024 Paris Olympics. “My college experience definitely helped prepare me a little bit for the Olympics. How to win in tight situations. How to persevere and be resilient. Those are all things that I learned through my NCAA Tournament experience,” she noted.

Now, she’s on the move again. The 22-year-old is set to join TCU. “So, hopefully, I can continue to apply them. Go Horned Frogs! Really appreciated all the support from you guys,” Van Lith said. With lucrative deals with Adidas and others, her net worth is estimated to be over $1 million. She gave her best in the 2024 Olympics. It remains to be seen how she will fare with her new team.
