“So, me and Caitlin, we one and one right now. I got to wait until I get into the league to break that tie. She’s definitely the hardest opponent I’ve ever had to play.” A few weeks ago, Flau’jae Johnson spoke about her rivalry with Caitlin Clark, which is tied at 1-1. The 21-year-old showed excitement when she spoke about facing the Fever superstar. But is the reality of the LSU guard going to the WNBA real?
“Flau’jae Johnson said she’s still thinking about whether to come back to LSU next season or declare for the WNBA draft.” Alexa Philippou of ESPN, reported on X. “She is going to talk to Kim Mulkey and her family before making her decision.” If anybody has any doubts over the Georgia native’s eligibility, then Philippou also cleared that. “She is eligible for the 2025 draft as she turns 22 this calendar year.” Can Kim Mulkey convince her player to stay, especially after the 72-65 loss to the UCLA at the Elite 8 stage?
In two weeks, the draft takes place at The Shed in Manhattan. Currently, it is Paige Bueckers who is the consensus number pick for the draft. But Flau’jae Johnson keeping the plan secret is happening not for the first time.

“I’m just waiting on God to tell me what to do, for real. I haven’t really thought about it,” the LSU star said to The Advocate. “It’s a lot of factors. A lot of family factors. But like I said, it’s gonna come time to make a decision.” Even though the star guard is yet to make her decision, one of her teammates is definitely going to the W.

Kim Mulkey gets credit as Flau’jae Johnson’s teammate is ready for the next chapter
The athlete is Aneesah Morrow, who finished her collegiate season with 2,852 points and 1,714 rebounds. This was her senior year, and she got emotional after the game against UCLA. That’s when Kim Mulkey stepped in and said, “The saddest day of your life as a student-athlete in basketball is when you take that jersey off your senior year and you never put it on again,” explaining the process and feelings about the night.

Even the coach received praise from the 22-year-old star. “Coach Mulkey challenged me to be a better person, to be a better player, and she challenged me to be able to make it in the real world,” Morrow said. Her admiration for Mulkey was evident as Morrow praised her coach for the impact she had on her life. As per mock drafts, Morrow is said to be the top-10 pick in the draft.

Another reason for Flau’jae Johnson to not follow the teammate is reportedly because of the NIL deals. In the women’s college basketball list, the LSU guard is number 1 with a $1.5 million valuation as per On3. She is even ahead of Paige Bueckers, the Cavinder twins, and even JuJu Watkins. But will it be enough to tempt her for the guard to take the offer?
