LSU get their 12th Conference victory over Georgia on Thursday. A one-sided contest saw Kim Mulkey and LSU storm past Bulldogs 80-54. Moreover, this win ensures that Lady Tigers stay in second place at the SEC just after Dawn Staley’s South Carolina.

Consequently, after the game, head coach Mulkey heaped praises on her two standout players for the night. Yet again, Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow combined to ensure that LSU got over the line comprehensively.

Kim Mulkey acknowledges her movers and shakers

At this time, one of the reporters asked her to spare some thought on the barrage of double-doubles produced by Reese and Morrow. To which Mulkey replied, “I never take that for granted. I always tell our coaches. We see those kids every day. We know what they do in games. You can’t take that for granted because of what they do in getting double-doubles.” 

The explosive duo of Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow have been instrumental in the team’s success. Both these players shared a total of 33 points and 25 rebounds between them. Kim Mulkey further added, “Those rebounds don’t just fall on their lap. Those points don’t just happen. They work in there.”

Because of Angel Reese’s surprise suspension earlier this season, Aneesah Morrow got a lead over the All-American forward. However, Reese got herself back on top by delivering emphatic performances one after the other since her return. In the 25 games Reese has been a part of, she has garnered an impressive tally of 19 double-doubles. At the same time, Morrow has played 29 games and has been able to get 17 double-doubles. Both these athletes have been the most heavily relied players by Kim Mulkey in that LSU locker room.
