“I love playing under Mulkey. She keeps it real, gives us support, and I just learn so much from her just as a player,” were Flau’jae Johnson’s words expressing the regard she shows for Kim Mulkey. Recently, Johnson described Mulkey as the ‘OG’ of college women’s basketball.
Notably, Kim Mulkey is usually known for saying things as they are, offering her genuine thoughts. Hence, Johnson admires Mulkey for this straightforward approach and looks up to her for almost everything important. Now, praising the head coach for her wholehearted approach, Johnson gives out a heartfelt message in Mulkey’s admiration.

In a recent interview, LSU’s Flau’Jae Johnson made a fascinating yet heart-touching admission about LSU coach Kim Mulkey. She talked about how Mulkey’s faith in her versatile potential influenced her personality.
“That’s my coach and I love coach Kim she believed in me when nobody believed in me. When I was in my recruiting process every school told me – you got to pick music or you got to pick basketball, but she didn’t, she let me be who I wanted to be. She supported me all the way. So, um I love coach Mulkey. She always tell us don’t defend me don’t defend me, but you know you kind of get that from a person that really you know have your back you know what I’m saying you want to have their back too.”
On the other hand, Johnson’s latest single AMF (Ain’t My Fault) with rapper NLE Choppa released when LSU went into battle against Rice in the first round and premiered on Snapchat, under a partnership with the app. The song has already made 250,000+ spins on Spotify.
Interestingly, NLE Choppa is the same rapper who, last year, asked Angel Reese to do a cameo in his song ‘Champions’. As a result, Reese appeared in the song alongside legendary athletes/boxers Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. This, in turn, led Johnson to ask NLE Choppa to collaborate on AMF.
Now the looming question is, when and how did Flau’jae start singing?

At the tender age of 13, Flau’jae appeared in the third season of The Rap Game, a TV show where contestants would participate to pursue a career in the rap industry and learn the tips and tricks of the trade. After this feat, Johnson got the opportunity to sign with the hip-hop legends Queen Latifah and Jermaine Dupri.
When she was just 14, Flau’jae participated in the 13th season of America’s Got Talent, where she performed one of her original songs, ‘Guns Down’, which was inspired by her Father Jason Johnson’s death from gun violence. Continuing her musical performance at the talent show, she made a run for the quarterfinals and also received a golden buzzer after she sang another original, ‘Letdown’.

Interestingly, Johnson isn’t a first-generation rapper as she had it in her genes. Her father was a rapper whose stage name was ‘Camoflauge’.
All these years later, she is still making waves with her game and her music running extraordinarily in parallel.
