The Iowa Hawkeyes and the Bowling Green Falcons were all set to play against each other in a highly anticipated game of the 2023-24 NCAA season. But little did the Hawkeyes know that they have some big fandom in the world. Hollywood’s millionaire star Jason Sudeikis and WNBA legend Sue Bird were seen courtside to cheer for Caitlin Clark, turning an already thrilling matchup into a star-studded event. 

Clark dropped 24 points and made 11 assists in this match. During the game, Sudeikis left the spectators jumping from their seats in excitement while Bird was seen cheering for the Hollywood star.

Seeing one of the top people in their respective fields, the Iowa Hawkeyes knew that they couldn’t disappoint. And being one of the best teams in the league, they didn’t. The Hawkeyes set the rhythm of the match in the early minutes of the first quarter,  showcasing their exceptional talent and skills. They won this match flawlessly with a final score of 99-65. But during this game was another highlight that took center stage. 

During a timeout in the second quarter of the game, the scoreboard showcased the Hawkeyes leading with a score of 23-4. Amidst the timeout, the cameras were focused on Sudeikis. And seizing this spotlight, he treated the crowd to an unexpected dance performance as they cheered on the star. Amongst the cheering people was WNBA legend Sue Bird, who was sitting beside the Hollywood sensation.  

While this moment became the talk of the town, the WNBA and Hollywood star didn’t forget about the young gun they were here to cheer for. As the match continued, they were left in awe by the incredible show Caitlin Clark put on.

How’ve Hawkeyes performed so far?

The Hawkeyes started this season with a bang, as they secured a sweet victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights. Caitlin Clark being one of the best shooters in the league scored 28 points while making 10 assists.

This season opener set the standards for their upcoming games as they went on a streak of three back-to-back wins, which was put to stop by Kansas City in their fourth game. So far, this is the only loss the Hawkeyes have recorded in the total of nine matches they have played till now.
