The Michigan Wolverines are quiet contenders for the national championship this season. Juwan Howard has been doing an excellent job as the head coach but doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
Howard took charge as the HC of his alma mater in 2019 and produced instant success in his first season. However, an early cancellation of the season resulted in disappointment, but Howard is hungry for success this time around.

The Michigan Wolverines are currently atop the Big 10 conference with a perfect 11-0 record. It took some time for the media to take note of Juwan Howard’s wonders with the team, and they’re now destined to find success.
Former Chicago Bulls player Jay Williams asserted the quality that Juwan Howard has bought into the team during a recent appearance on ESPN. Here’s what he said:
“From a recruiting perspective, [Howard’s] been able to bring in a couple of good classes as well. I think the way that he’s had Hunter Dickinson play, a seven-footer, can average you know I think it’s like 17 and a half points per game close to double-digit rebounds,” Williams mentioned.
“Mike Smith, the way he’s been at the point guard spot facilitating, Isaiah Livers has taken a leap, he’s done a tremendous job,” added Williams.
Howard is instilling the ‘Fab Five’ mentality into his players
Juwan Howard played with the Michigan Wolverines for three seasons and was part of the prestigious ‘Fab Five’ class. Howard, Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson comprised the highly reputed team.
The Fab Five even had an ESPN documentary created after them, which earned tremendous response. Moreover, Howard is attempting to create such an aura around his current recruitment class and things are looking good so far.
“When he got the job, a lot of people didn’t know if he could actually sustain the type of success that they were having at that organization,” said Jay Williams about Howard’s coaching stint.
“He’s exceeded that, and I think the year he’s having this year will really put the stamp on the ground for him being there for the long term if he chooses to be.”
