Duke diehards wore long faces when they saw the Blue Devils star Tyrese Proctor getting injured in the game against Georgia Tech. The sophomore guard’s ankle injury prompted him to leave the court for an indefinite time. While this was a heartbreaking scene for the team supporters, a sports analyst begs to differ.
Sharing a piece of his mind, the analyst termed Proctor’s injury as a blessing in disguise for the Blue Devils.

Jeff Goodman is a renowned sports analyst who recently appeared on The Field Of 68: After Dark, on which he sat down with Rob Dauster and Terrence Oglesby, to give an update on Tyrese Proctor’s injury. But that’s not the only thing he said, as he also shared why Proctor’s injury could benefit Duke.
During the conversation, Dauster asked Goodman about any updates on Proctor, to which he replied, “It’s probably going to be a three-week or so injury. Obviously, it’s a sprained ankle, so they don’t know, could he be back sooner, sure! Could it take a little bit longer, absolutely! But somewhere they’re thinking in that range of when he got hurt about three or four weeks, at that point. Which puts it at another probably two, two and a half weeks.”
After providing an update on his injury, he continued, “I don’t know if this hurts as much as people think. Because again, listen McCain and Foster get more of an opportunity right now. Tyrese Proctor was not good, he had not been very good so far. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that he had been frustrating for a lot of people to watch, probably including the Duke coaching staff because they want more of them, they expect more of them. With the way he played the second half of last year and he just hadn’t delivered it yet. So, we’ll see when he comes back but I think this helps them in some way, because again it forces McCain and Foster to get more playing time.”
