While Gilbert Arenas has retired, he certainly looks to be preparing his kids for the basketball takeover. The former Washington Wizards star has a famous son Alijah Arenas who is a five-star recruit and a daughter, Izelan who plays for the University of Louisville. While Alijah’s commitment date looks to be undecided with a major change in his plan, the third Arenas seems to be knocking on the doors of popularity.

On Tuesday a few clips of the game between the Notre Dame Knights and Venice Gondoliers went viral on X. And one of the proactive ballers in the matchup for the Knights was Hamiley Arenas. She was seen getting buckets for her team while also performing steals and blocks. Thus she is seen running from coast to coast and actively contributing her part.

Not only that, the ninth grader is also performing assists thus helping her teammates score points whenever she has defenders blocking her path. Thus, the 14-year-old looks to be doing perfectly under the able guidance of Jena Laolagi.

In July this year, Hamiley enrolled at the Notre Dame Sherman Oaks for her freshman year of high school. HC Laolagi is fond of her and sees a future baller in her, describing her as versatile; someone who can play one to four positions depending on what the team needs. While Hamiley’s stats in the game are not known, she did go viral, and her squad surely had a good time.

As per Max Preps, the Knights were dominant in all four quarters with the highest lead in the third when they hit 30 points while restricting the Gondoliers to only 4. Plus, in the first and fourth quarters, they checked the opponents at just 3 points each. Overall, they ended the game on a 78-20 margin. Certainly, the Knights with Hamiley’s help have raised the bar in high school girls’ basketball.,

However, it is not only Hamiley who is bringing Gilbert a lot of fame. Her brother is contributing to it, too.

Gilbert Arenas drops a major update regarding his son

As mentioned before Arenas has a son named Alijah Arenas. The five-star high school athlete has pushed up his date of commitment from the class of 2026 to 2025. As per Eric Bossi of 247Sport, Arenas announced his son’s plan on the Monday night livestream. “We’re reclassing up right now. I think they just approved it today… This is his senior year now,”  Gilbert said.

This came off as a surprise for many since the 5-star shooting guard is ranked at the number one spot among shooting guards in the Class of 2026, and overall number four prospect in the 2026 class. But another thing to note is that if he reclassifies then he will become one of the best five recruits in the country, giving tough competition to AJ Dybantsa and Cameron Boozer. One of his most viral games included hitting 29 points with 6 rebounds against Team Loaded VA.
