The LSU Tigers prevailed 78-69 during the Sweet 16 round and marched on to the Elite 8. They beat the UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team in a thrilling encounter. The “Big 3” of Flau’jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Angel Reese combined for 57 points this afternoon for the Tigers. At the end of Q3, the score was tied at 48 each. Reese delivered with another double-double during the game. Yet it seemed some fans weren’t happy with her performance.
Social Media was filled with how Reese was being selfish during the game and ignoring Flau’jae Johnson. Johnson was leading the game in scoring and was pivotal in keeping her team in the game. She ended the match with 12 rebounds one more than Reese, which people were comparing a lot.
One fan wrote, “Angel Reese does a lot of things that are important but if Flau’jae wasn’t doing the scoring this team would be cooked.”

There is no doubt that Angel Reese showed up again on another important day for the reigning NCAA national champions. But since the spotlight shines on her the brightest, some feel it is unfair to her teammates who sometimes are overlooked. Johnson not only beat Reese in rebounds but in points as well. She scored 24 compared to Reese’s 16 and Aneesah Marrow’s 17 points.
Because of this, fans took to X to express their opinion on why Johnson is better. One fan wrote how during the entire season, Johnson has been the best player for the LSU yet all the credit still goes to Reese.
