The LSU Lady Tigers’ star Flau’jae Johnson has a prolific rap career alongside her balling life. She, just a few months ago, released the Came Out Like a Best track in collab with Lil Wayne. The lyrical was an instant hit and featured in the NFL Songs of the Season playlist. Thus, Johnson, who has achieved so much success in her rapping career due to Lil Wayne, came to the fore to support her rapping mentor after the latter was snubbed from the Super Bowl.
Johnson was present on the In Case You Missed It With Khristina Williams‘ podcast on Thursday when she supported Wayne after he couldn’t find a place in the Super Bowl
“Oh, you don’t have to finish that. You know I am mad. I feel that was one of things like this is like the lifetime like… You know we get flowers like just like his final lap. You see that’s what I am saying and definitely was supposed to be performing on that stage…. But you know things that have to happen had to happen. But he did sell out the arena for the Lil Weezyana Fest so we’re going be down there rocking it out for him. So you know what I am saying but that man… But that hurt, you know what I am saying… That was his moment, that was his thought…It’s my legacy on display for the world. And you can’t see him act like Lil Wayne and got the hits like… What are we talking about,” Johnson stated on the podcast.

The Super Bowl this time is scheduled for February 9, 2025, and will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is the eighth Super Bowl to be played in the Superdome and the 11th to take place in the city of New Orleans. The last time the Super Bowl was held in New Orleans was in 2013. Therefore, after Lil Wayne’s Came Out Like a Beast was included in the Songs of the Season list, fans expected the Louisiana native to be performing at the event. However, that wasn’t the case.
But his supporters need not be disappointed. The Lil Weezyana Fest will take place in November this year, and fans can see him perform in New Orleans. He will be there with his Hot Boys Reunion which will feature Juvenile, BG, and Turk. Therefore, while Johnson was disappointed by the Super Bowl’s decision, she did promote Wayne’s Weezyana. Meanwhile, Lil Wayne too expressed his emotions on the current state of things.

Hurt Lil Wayne shares his take on Super Bowl snub
Wayne was born and brought up in Louisiana and achieved commercial success just in his teens. Going ahead, he collaborated with different artists and kept on releasing his solo albums too, and all of it culminated to him reaching the height that he has. Hence, it came as a shock when Kendrick Lamar was selected to perform at the Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show instead of him, and Wayne did have a few words to say.

“That hurt. Hurt a lot. You know what I am talking about. It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown. And for just automatically, mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. It made me feel like s— not getting this opportunity. And when I felt like s—, you guys reminded me that I ain’t s— without you all. And that’s an amazing reality,” Wayne enumerated.
As for now, while Wayne will entice his fans with his New Orleans tour, Johnson must be gearing up for the upcoming NCAA season. And perhaps, soon the duo will have a special track or concert that will be a blessing for their fans.
